Jovan Jane Review and Giveaway

Ava is loving her new collar from Jovan Jane ! Jovan Jane is a company that sells all different kinds of accessories including barrettes, headbands, hats, pet collars, etc. Their motto is "life is too short to dress boring".  I agree with this idea! It was very hard to choose which item to review because there are so many great choices. I almost went with a headband but decided on the pretty collar seen above for my princess. I chose this collar for her because it was very feminine and pretty.  I think that Ava feels like a diva in it.  It is a black collar with hot pink satin flowers and rinestones. It retails for $30 and comes in different sizes. I think that it is pretty for summer. It fits well and is good for going outside in.  I would definitely recommend checking out this company if you are interested in very pretty and fun accessories! Giveaway The giveaway will be for any item of your choice under $50 from Jovan Jane.  The giveaway is open until Midnight

Sunshine Pillows Review and Giveaway

Sunshine Pillows is a company that sells travel neck pillows and different kinds of heating pads. I chose the Ergonomic Travel Neck Pillow in size medium in the floral print fleece. This retails for $29.95. This size fits most adults which is great because I can share it with others now.  Here are some of the pillows features: Firm at the head area to provide strong support. Narrower and softer at the cervical area -- This makes it easy to fit in the small space between your neck and the car seat. Enlarged end portion of the pillow legs provides chin support to prevent head-nodding while you nap. Zipper opening allows easy adding or removing of stuffing for self-adjusting firmness. This pillow could not have come to me at a more perfect time. I was literally walking (okay running) out the door to pick my husband up from work for our three day weekend.  I was exhausted from a busy work week and needed a little nap on our 4 hour car ride to my parent's farm

Teamotions Tea Review

Teamotions Tea Review Teamotions Tea is a brand of tea dedicated to bring you emotional health and healing. They sell 6 different flavors which are all pretty unique. I decided to review this product because the kinds of tea sounded yummy and I enjoy a cup of tea 1-2 times per day and love trying new flavors.  This tea is very good! Teamotions Seek Peace Tea Review For my tin of tea, I chose the Teamotions Seek Peace Rooibos Coconut Chai.  This tea is delicious and with a tiny bit of cream added, tasted even better. It is decaf which is great because I like tea in the evening a lot of times. I also like the apple cinnamon chamomile which I am sipping right now.  It is also decaf and I am hoping that it will not make me too sleepy! I have already enjoyed a few cups of these different teas and cannot wait to have more!

Contigo Review and Giveaway

I have been wanting a Contigo mug since I saw them on many different healthy living blogs over the last year. They sell fun and colorful travel mugs, water bottles, kids products, etc.  For my review, I chose a pretty pink water bottle and a purple coffee travel mug. The coffee mug is the Autoseal Elle Double Wall Insulated Mug 14 ounce.  I used this mug this morning on my way to work to hold my hot chai tea latte.  It kept my drink hot for 45 minutes (until I was about done with it) and didn't spill even when I tipped it upside down.  I like that all you have to do it hold a button to be able to drink instead of having to turn the top like most travel mugs do.  When you release the button, the cup automatically seals back up. Also, I chose to review the Autoseal Water Bottle in pink.  It works the same as the coffee mug and was drip and spill free! The bottles are also BPA free. These containers will be used very often in the future by me! Giveaway The giveaway will be ei

Rudi's Organic Bakery Review and Giveaway

Last year, I was sent some Rudi's products for review and really enjoyed them.  The company has an organic line and a gluten free kind.  One of my favorite parts of these breads is that they are made with ingredients that you know of and can pronounce. For this review, I was sent the organic 100% whole wheat bread and the harvest seeded bread. To try the breads, I had a 1/2 slice of each of them plain so that I could really taste them.  My favorite was the Harvest Seeded bread. It was slightly sweet (like honey) and had seeds throughout which I love.  Each slice had 100 calories, 3 grams of fiber, and 4 grams of protein which is good. I would love each of these breads with PB & J on them or anything really. The 100% whole wheat was good too but did not have the sweetness to it. I would prefer this bread with turkey, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mustard (one of my favorite go-to sandwiches. I can't wait to try more varieties that this company has to sell : ) Giveawa

Food Should Taste Good Review and Giveaway

Food Should Taste Good is a company that makes all natural tortilla chips made with real and simple ingredients. Here is a little bit of information about the chips: "All of our chip varieties are free of cholesterol, preservatives and trans fat, and do not use genetically modified ingredients (GMOs).  They are also certified Kosher and Gluten Free, lower in sodium, and are a good source of dietary fiber . We currently have 11 flavors in our 5.5oz line: Multigrain, Sweet Potato, Olive, Jalapeño, The Works!, Chocolate, Lime, Blue Corn, Cheddar, Toasted Sesame, and White Cheddar." The flavors that I chose to review were The Works, Olive, Sweet Potato, Lime, and Jalapeno.  My favorite of these are the olive chips.  They do not really taste like olive (in a good way) but are crispy, salty, and fresh tasting.  The company suggests eating them with hummus which is very good too. I love that these chips are good for you and actually taste good.  The kinds of flavors are very un

Lemon Ladies Orchard Meyer Lemons Giveaway

Lemon Ladies Orchard Meyer Lemons Giveaway

Lemon Ladies Orchard is a company that grows Meyer lemons located in Emerald Hills, California.  They pick lemons every Sunday and ship them on Monday. I have been wanting to try these kind of lemons for about two years now but they do not sell them at any of my stores in Michigan. The season is short and will be ending very soon (that is why this giveaway is going to be quick). I was sent a dozen of beautiful little lemons.  Let me tell you a little bit about how this lemon is different from the typical ones.  They are much smaller, about half of the size.  They also peel very easily kind of like a clementine.  Also, the segments come apart like a clementine.  I am a huge fan of sourness so I just eat the lemon plain and shared it with my family.  We all loved it and thought that it was a little bit less bitter than a typical lemon. It is actually a cross between a normal lemon and a mandarin or a typical orange. I really like how this company is run by women.  It seems to have

Their items are afforable and gorgeous. I was sent the Make My Day or Night Double Clip Earrings ($38) and the Make My Day or Night Multi Crystal Choker Necklace ($75) to review.  I love them both and think they are beautiful.  I would wear these to a wedding or suggest for someone to wear them to prom.  My sister has her prom coming up and maybe she would like to even borrow these. They are super sparkly and really do look like real diamonds. **I also love this line of blue sparkly jewels . They are absolutely amazing! Easter Traditions

Easter has always been big in my family. I am taking Good Friday off of work and am going to my parent's farm to celebrate Easter and partake in all of our wonderful traditions.  These three days are easily my favorite of the entire year.  We color eggs with crayons and make one for each person in the family  My mom makes a lamb out of butter (a Polish tradition) We get an Easter basket full of food blessed  When my Dzia Dzia (grandpa in Polish) was alive, it was a tradition to make a huge fruit salad together. Now that he is gone, I treasure those pictures and memories that I have of us.  I now make the fruit salad on my own and will continue to do so here on out.    My sister and Busia (grandma in Polish) make a huge potato salad.  My brother and Busia also make a very good lemon coffee cake but I do not have any pictures of that. So as you can probably tell, I love Easter and cannot wait for it! What are some of your favorite Easter t

Gunther's Gourmet Salsa Review

Gunther's Gourmet Salsa Review

I have always been a huge fan of salsa and love trying new kinds. I was thrilled when Gunther's Gourmet agreed to send me some samples of their salsa for my review. I chose the salsa fresca, jalapeno salsa fresca, and the black and white bean salsa to try. The company also sells marinades and vinaigrettes too. The other night, my husband and I made delicious tacos with ground venison, pinto beans, tomatoes, lettuce, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and this salsa.  We tried the salsa fresca and liked it.  It is very different than other salsas in the way that it is has more of a chili powder taste than most.  I think that it would be very good cooked in a recipe like with burritos, over chicken, or on top of a baked potato also. My favorite of these salsas is the black and white bean salsa. I love beans in my salsa and this one tasted great.  Thanks Gunther's Gourmet for sharing your delicious products with me.

Crunchmaster Cracker Review
April 20, 2011

Crunchmaster Cracker Review

Crunchmaster crackers became my favorite kind of cracker last year when I was sent some for review.  I have not seen them in the grocery store so I asked the company if they could send me some more of their crackers and they did! The reason that I love these so much is that they are super crunchy.  They are not flaky like some crackers. They are salty (but actually are low in sodium!), tasty, and go well with any snack. My favorite flavors are the garlic and onion crackers.  These are gluten free which is wonderful for people who can't have gluten.  Every kind of these crackers that I have tried, I have loved. I highly recommend these and will be buying more of them as soon as I find them in my grocery store.

Revenge is ... is a company that focuses on doing good.  Here is some information about them: "Our products deal with important social issues of today while displaying simple yet meaningful ways to enact change from the landfill up. To start, our T-shirts are made from a blend of recycled plastic bottles and/or organic cotton. Our reusable hybrid coffee/tea mug, eco-spout and tuck away bag enable each of us to significantly reduce our use of the plastic water bottles, Styrofoam cups, and plastic grocery bags that clog our landfills. They also reduce our need for paper cups and hot sleeves and paper grocery bags. By wearing our products, you will be a billboard for change and inspire others to participate in helping to make our world better." Also, 5% of their net sales are donated to charity. For my review, I was sent these two cute t-shirts (sorry you can't really see the black one in the first picture very well). One has bell peppers on it and the other has a green

Ozone Socks Review and Giveaway

Ozone is a company that sells really cute socks, tights, accessories, etc.  This company was started in 2000 in hopes to make some fashionable socks.  They believe that socks were ignored by the fashion world for too long.  They have done a great job making some cute socks and tights! I was sent these cute argyle socks and button up leggings to review. They are great quality and are really cute on. I especially like the leggings because as spring is approaching, I like to wear a lot of skirts and dresses. Corazonas Review
April 19, 2011

Corazonas Review

Corazonas is a company that makes snacks that are proven to lower cholesterol.  They contain plant sterols which help to not absorb cholesterol and help to lower your LDL (the bad cholesterol) by 5-14%.  Bet you never thought that chips could do that! I was sent some salt and vinegar chips, spicy rio habanero chips, and some banana walnut oatmeal squares.  All of these products are delicious but I have to say that my favorite is definitely the salt and vinegar chips.  They taste exactly like french fries with vinegar on them.  I love anything sour so these are great.  The chips have 200 calories for a 1.5 ounce serving (larger than a normal serving).  They also contain 3 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, and some vitamin C and iron.  They also contain much less fat than typical potato chips. I am amazed how healthy that these are considering that they taste so good.  I would definitely recommend these.

FlipFlop Wine Review

FlipFlop Wine Review

Wine is one of my main to go alcoholic beverages and I love to try new kinds. I was sent these two bottles of wine from FlipFlop wines .  I was send the pinot grigio and the riesling. This company is very generous also.  For every bottle of wine that is purchased, they will donate a pair of shoes to someone in need to the Soles4Souls program! Something that I really like about this wine is that it is very affordable. Each bottle only costs $7 and it tastes great too! Yesterday, my husband and I both had the day off work (yay!) so we opening up the riesling for a happy hour treat.  We both absolutely loved it! I actually have not had this kind of wine before and liked that it was sweet but not too sweet. We drank it on the porch which we got to sit out on for the first time this year! I have not tried the pinot grigio before but I'm sure that we will love it! I will definitely be drinking these wines again in the future. Thanks FlipFlop wine!

Kinnikinnick Gluten Free Review

Kinnikinnick Gluten Free Review

I love trying gluten free products because even though I do not have a gluten intolerance, I know that as a soon to be dietitian, I will come across patients who cannot have it.  Kinnikinnick is a brand that makes really good products that are hard to even tell that they are gluten free.  For review, I was sent their pancake and waffle mix, cinnamon sugar donuts, panko bread crumbs, and K-toos cookies. Right when I opened up the package, I tried one of the donuts. I heated it up in the microwave for 15 seconds first.  It was amazing!! The donut is only 170 calories and tastes just like a donut with gluten.  With the K-toos which are very similar to Oreos, I made truffles with cream cheese.  It is the easiest recipe in the world.  All you have to do is blend a whole package of the cookies with 4 ounces of cream cheese.  I also added 1/2 cup ground oats for extra fiber. They turned out amazing and are gluten free (if you consider oats gluten free).  These two products that I tried w

Honey Milk Review and Giveaway

The RD that I work with first recommended Honey Milk to me about 6 months ago.  After that, I emailed the company asking to try their products. I ended up really liking the Light Chocolate flavor while my husband loved all of them especially the honey flavor.  My hubby kept asking me about getting some more of these so I asked the company if I could review them again. I received a 12 pack of the Honey Milk which retails for $34.99. This product can help to reduce muscle fatigue which is important if you are an athlete. My husband is getting back into running (he ran 5 miles last week!) and will drink these after his runs. The product is high protein and packs 26 grams per bottle!! It has 240 calories, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and 80% of your daily calcium.  What I really like about these drinks is that they taste great and are great nutritionally. This is a rare find with protein supplements.  If you have not tried Honey Milk before, I highly recommend it! Giveaway The give

Chef's Planet Review and Giveaway

Chef's Planet is a company that makes all kinds of fun kitchen gadgets. They sell food scoops, whisks, measuring colandars, and other neat things.  Their products are designed to help save you time and make cooking easier. For my review, I chose the Preptaxi Food Scoop and the Grill & BBQ Mat. The foo scoop is great for scooping up chopped veggies, nuts, cheese, meat, fruit, etc. I like this because I make chopped salads all the time. This tool helps to save time and the sides of the scoop help to prevent spillage.  The grill & bbq mat is a nonstick mat that you can put right on your grill. It also helps to stop food from falling in between the cracks. This retails for $20.  I really like it because I like to grill vegetables that typically stick to the grill such as tomatoes and green peppers.  This helps so that it does not stick and I still get the nice grilled flavor. Giveaway The giveaway will be a Grill & BBQ Mat and a Preptaxi Food Scoop from Chef&#

Crystal Light Pure Review

Crystal Light Pure I have always been a fan of Crystal Light products and when the company asked me to review their Crystal Light Pure products, I was more than happy to.   Crystal Light Pure Flavors I was sent the Crystal Light Pure grape, lemonade, and tropical blend. They come in lots of other flavors like peach iced tea and strawberry kiwi too. Crystal Light Ingredients The difference with their Pure line is that they are made with no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or preservatives. They have 15 calories per serving and come in convenient to-go packages.  I like Crystal Light products because they have a lot of flavor for such low calories. This is perfect for people who don't like to drink water and like it enhanced. Crystal Light Review The other night, my husband tried the Crystal Light lemonade and really liked it.  I like that it is tangy enough and not too sweet.  I actually tried the grape a couple months ago when the dietitian at my work told me that she started d

Grandpa Pete's Review

Grandpa Pete's is a company that makes pasta and pasta sauces.  I love a good pasta sauce so I was excited to try these.  They make vodka sauce, marinara sauce, and garlic sauce.  You can buy a 2 pack of any of the sauces on the site for $17.95.  This is more than I normally would spend on sauce but for a treat, it is okay. Here is some history about the company : "Grandpa Pete learned from his mother and grandmother. The Sicilian Italian traditions were passed down from Italy and were brought to America when the Serros arrived. We learned those family secrets and have brought them to you in this complete dinner package. We are sharing our heritage with you. The convenience of having all of the courses ready for you to present to your family or guests makes entertaining easy as boiling a pound of spaghetti in less than ten minutes." On Tuesday night, my husband and I made the pasta that I was sent along with the vodka sauce.  It was AMAZING!! It is rich and
