Pack your Lunch: Crunchmaster and Black + Blum Review

Recently, I had the opportunity to review a couple cool products perfect for packing your lunch. I pack my lunch Monday-Friday to take with me to the hospital. Packing your lunch not only saves you money but also is often much healthier for you. Check out a couple of the lunch essentials that I have been enjoying this week.  1. Crunchmaster White Cheddar Crackers Crunchmaster crackers are easily my favorite crackers out there.  They are super crispy and taste great.  I did two reviews on them in the last year ( review 1 , review 2 ). The company recently contacted me to try their new white cheddar crackers. Since I am such as huge fan of the other ones, of course I said yes.  These crackers have a light coating of white cheddar and taste great. They are good enough to eat alone or would be great with some hummus on top. I love these new crackers! 2. Black + Blum Lunch Boxes Black + Blum is a company that sells all sorts of unique products, especially ones for the kitch

Ask the Dietitian: Venison vs. Beef

Nutrition facts in venison vs. beef- calories, protein, fat, saturated fat and cholesterol compared.   Venison Steak My dad, husband, and brother are all hunters so there is always venison available to eat.  I try to make the best nutritional choices possible when it comes to choosing what to eat and did some research about the difference between venison and beef.  Here is what I found comparing the nutrition facts of venison vs. beef. Beef vs. Venison I already knew that venison contained less fat than beef particularly because deer are more active animals and eat more natural diets too. Both meats can be eaten as part of a healthy diet but choose the healthier cuts of beef as compared to the higher fat and calorie versions. Godiva Coffee Review

Godiva Coffee Review

Through the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, I was sent these two bags of Godiva Coffee for my review. I had never had this brand of coffee before but was excited to try these exciting flavors.  I was sent the pumpkin spice and the caramel pecan bark. This past Sunday morning, my husband and I brewed up a hot pot of the caramel pecan bark coffee.  It was a chilly morning and this hot coffee was perfect.  I put some skim milk in it and a little sugar free caramel syrup.  It was amazing! Before I added the syrup, I made sure to try the coffee on its own.  You could taste a bit of the caramel and pecan peeking through. Definitely a quality coffee! These flavors are inspired by Godiva's most popular chocolates and are made with medium roast 100% Arabica beans. This coffee is available nation wide in your local grocery stores. I would highly recommend this coffee and can't wait to continue to make these two delicious flavors through the chilly Fall weather.

Every Man Jack Review and Giveaway

Every Man Jack is a company that sells all kinds of men's hair, body, skin, and shave products. Since my husband loves to try new products like this, I contacted the company and they agreed to the review and giveaway.  My husband chose the thickening grooming cream, face scrub, and shave gel to try. His opinion: he loved them! He said that the thickening cream left his hair not too greasy (which I guess is a common problem in mens hair products). The face scrub smells good and leaves his face feeling clean after a long days work.  These products are sold at Target and other grocery stores around the country. They are affordable for every one which is a huge plus. Here is some information about the company: The idea was simple. There should be high-quality grooming stuff made just for guys that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Products that are honest and straightforward and stripped of all the things you don’t need, like harsh chemicals and unbelievable promises.

Yandy Costume Review

Yandy Costume Review

I first found out about Yandy last year when I read a review about one of their dresses. I chose a ruffled yellow dress to review and loved it. This year, Yandy contacted me to review one of their Halloween costumes.  Yandy Reviews It was hard to decide which costume that I wanted to review because there were so many.   For example, if you wanted a maid’s costume, you had many different ones to choose from. They pretty much have any costume that you can imagine.   For my review, I chose the chef’s costume by Elegant Moments.   It comes with the chef dress, chef hat, and spoon. I love it! I’m not sure what my plans for Halloween this year are but I can’t wait to wear the costume. Even if I don’t get to go to a Halloween party, I will probably still wear it around cooking in my kitchen for fun.  Yandy Lingerie Reviews Along with sexy Halloween costumes, the company sells sexy lingerie, dresses, etc. It is all very affordable and cute too.  Yandy Costumes

Fresh Wave Review and Giveaway

Fresh Wave Review and Giveaway

Fresh Wave is a company that makes a line of products to help keep your home smelling good. For my review, I was sent the odor neutralizing carpet shake, odor eliminating crystals, and the all natural odor neutralizing spray. What first attracted me to this company is the fact that my house can be smelly due to my two dachshunds.  They are not fully potty trained (really working on this!) and often have accidents.  I was interested in trying these products to see if they could help with this. I tried the carpet product first.  Since this is where my naughty dogs use the bathroom, I wanted to rid the carpet of that smell.  It worked very well! It covered up the odor well.  Also, I tried the spray which was nice to be able to spray anywhere.  This product has a fresh pine sort of smell.  It does smell good but is pretty strong so I would recommend using it sparingly.  Also, it is a manly sort of smell (in my opinion) so I think that it would be great to spray in your guy's sti

Musselman's Orchard Trip Part 2

Last week, I started to tell you about my amazing trip to Musselman's orchards. Here are some more details about the great trip. Above is a picture of all of us bloggers who were invited on the trip. Haley , Cissy , Kelly , Jen , Renee , Heather , me, Sammi , and Amie . We were taken to the solar panels that Musselman's uses. I believe that they told us that they get 30% of their energy from these. The apples growing on the trees Musselman's is very environmentally friendly which was awesome to hear. They really use all of the apple and try not to let a lot go to waste. More information about this later but the little apples that cannot be peeled due to size are juiced. I loved learning that they do not waste the apples! We were talked to by the grower of the apples about the growing practices. It was very interesting learning about this. They grow 100s of varieties of different apples. I also learned that they have a Musselman's plant in Paw Paw

Harvest of Heaven Veggies Chips Review

Harvest of Heaven is a brand that makes all kinds of veggie and fruit chips. For my review, I was sent the mixed veggies, pineapple (unpictured), carrots, sweet potato, shiitake mushroom, apple, taro, green bean, and mixed fruit chips. Right when I received the package, I opened up the pineapple ones and loved them.  I am not usually a fan of plain freeze dried fruit but loved these because they were make with a little oil and salt. They were delicious.  I also love the mixed veggies. They literally have whole pieces of okra in there! My favorite in the veggie mix is the green beans which are slightly sweet and very crunchy. They are quite low in calories at around 84-142 calories depending in the kind of chips you have. Harvest of Heaven's chips are all natural and are dehydrated fruits and vegetables. They are made with the fruit or vegetable, canola oil, glucose, and salt. They are a pretty good alternative to regular potato chips. Try them today! There are tons of fun a

Express Business Suits

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Express for SocialSpark . All opinions are 100% mine.   As someone who is newly in the professional field, I am trying to build up my business wardrobe.  I've been able to find some great pieces while browsing through the   Express website.   I love fashion but do not have a lot of money to spend on clothes so I love a good giveaway.  Currently, Express is having a $500 suiting makeover giveaway with the  Express sweepstakes . What I love about the suits is that they are both fitted and stylish.  Sometimes, women's suits are quite large and are not flattering. This is not the case with these. They have some nice styles f

Purple Produce Packs a Punch

I haven't written an Ask the Nutritionist post in a awhile but thought of this title in the middle of the night and had to get writing. This post will be about purple produce and the nutritional benefits.   Besides the typical fruits and vegetables that are purple, farmers are now coming out with heirloom varieties of produce that are purple such as potatoes, tomatoes, cauliflower, corn and carrots. Besides that they are a pretty color, they are also very nutritious. The pigment that makes this produce purple is called anthocyanin, a phytonutrient known to help prevent cancer and heart disease. Also, a new study has found that eating two purple potatoes a day can help lower your blood pressure as much as oatmeal can! Eggplant is another purple vegetable that is great. It contains manganese, copper, fiber, vitamin B1, and potassium. It is also contains chlorogenic acid which helps to have anti-cancer, anti-microbial, and antiviral properties.  Some other great purple

Lefty's Review and Giveaway

As a lefty, many common tasks have been difficult my whole life.  The two most common ones are cutting with scissors and writing with a pen and not getting ink on my hand.  Recently, I found an awesome site for left handed people.  It is called Lefty's San Francisco and sells all different products for lefty's like me.   For my review, I was sent the deluxe kitchen gift set which contains an oven mit, peeler, can opener, scissors, and two mixing spoons all geared toward lefty's.  The biggest question may be how are these products actually made for lefty's. Well here are the answers: The crab claw mitt has heat resistant fabric on the bottom when used in the left hand. The Clauss kitchen shears are true lefty shears, with the blades reversed so lefties can see what they are cutting, and an ergonomically designed lefty grip. Bamboo tools are angled for lefty use, with the leading edge down when held in the left hand. The swivel peeler is ambidextrous. I
