Entwine wines are a wine made by a partnership/collaboration between the Food Network and Wente Vineyards. For my review, I was sent a bottle of their Pinot Grigio and Merlot wines to try. The company also sells a Cabernet Sauvignon wine and a Chardonnay wine. I had never heard of this wine before this and as soon as I received it in the mail, actually saw it at a local grocery store that I don't usually go to! At the grocery store, the wine was on sale for only $8.99! Online, you can buy the wine too but it is a little more expensive than that. The Pinot Grigio is $12.99 online.
The idea behind Entwine wines is that not only does the wine taste great but it also goes perfectly with different kinds of foods. They have a "Perfect Pairings" guide where you can find which food goes with which wine. I've always loved this idea but honestly have never paid attention to pairing a certain wine with food before.
I decided to give the Merlot a try and a loved it. They describe the wine as a plum and cherry flavor with a hint of black tea. The company says that this wine pairs well with grilled pork, meatloaf, mac and cheese, pizza, salmon, tomato sauce, and salami. The wine was crisp and tasty. I very much enjoyed this wine and loved learning more about food and wine pairings.
Since it is actually illegal to do a giveaway for alcohol, the company will be giving away aprons with the name Entwine on it to 5 lucky readers.
