Concannon Vineyard Wine Review

Concannon Vineyard is a company that produces different kinds of wines. They have a few different lines including the Conservancy line that I was sent a sample of.  For my review, I was sent the Concannon Conservancy Crimson and Clover wine.

The wine was delivered to my home at the perfect time: Friday night! My husband and I opened up a bottle in the evening as we were watching our current favorite show Vampire Diaries.  The first thing we both noticed was the beautiful design on the outside of the bottle. Not too many bottles look like this so I definitely want to save it for my dad who makes his own wines.

Jim Concannon
This wine was created as a tribute to Jim Concannon and is a newer wine created July 25, 2011. It is named after the creaters Irish heritage.  The wine is a beautiful shade of very dark red. It is 13.7% alcohol which is a bit higher than most wines.  My husband and I both enjoyed it although it is quite different than our typical choice of wine. It has a very rich flavor and I think we are used to lighter wines typically. It has flavors of current, clove, and vanilla. It is considered to have a "spicy" finish and I would definitely agree with that.

The wine is made from grapes grown in Livermore vineyards. The vineyards now are over 3,100 acres! The wine is reasonable at around $15 a bottle. It would make a great hostess gift for any holiday party that you may attend this season.
