2012 Goals

2011 was a great year! Many wonderful things have happened to me and I can't wait to see what the year 2012 will bring.  Here are some of my goals for the year:
  • Finish my dietetic internship (June 1) and take/pass the registered dietitian exam (around August or so) and become a Registered Dietitian (RD).
  • Find a job that I love and get hired as a Registered Dietitian somewhere in the Detroit area.
  • Study hard and maintain at least a B in my Master's degree classes.
  • Learn as much as possible in my clinical rotation from January until the end of April about clinical nutrition, tube feeding, outpatient therapy, etc.
  • Continue to work on our new home and move in (April 20th).
  • Sell our current home by April 20th.
  • Blog everyday (I barely missed a day this entire 2011 year!) and continue my passion for blogging.
  • Continue to grow my readership on The Nutritionist Reviews.
  • Spend lots of time with my family and husband! Also, continue to love my dachshunds with all my heart.
  • Go to church every week with my husband and pray at least a few times/week.

  • Pay off school loan bills and start to replentish our savings that we spent from the last year of me not having a job and being at my internship.
What are some of your goals for 2012?
I would love to hear them!

2011 Reflections Part 2

Hope you enjoyed my 2011 Reflections Part 1!
Here are some of the great things that happened in my life from July-December:

We picked some beautiful sour cherries from my dad's tree.

My siblings, my brother's girlfriend, and I all went on a Detroit River Cruise.

My sister graduated from high school and we got to see our friend Marianne that we have not seen in forever!

My husband and I discovered if you climb about 300 stairs (no joke!) that you can see this beautiful view in Saugatuck, MI. We also got to watch fireworks from up there.

My husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary!! July 11th

We watched many beautiful sunsets at the beach in Fennville (I will miss this SO much when we move).

My dad grew a bunch of grapes that turned out great for both eating and wine.

We went to a concert and walked the boardwalk in Lexington, MI.

I grew a TON of zucchini and tomatoes!

I left my job as a dietary manager at a nursing home to begin my dietetic internship and master's program. So far, it is going very well! Soon enough in 2012, I will be a registered dietitian.

Troy and I took off a week vacation and went to my parent's farm. It was so much fun!
September-December has kept me busy with my internship and master's class that I guess I didn't take too many pictures! Hope you enjoyed my recaps of 2011 and I cannot wait to see what the year 2012 brings for me and my family. Stay tuned : )

2011 Reflections Part 1

Here are some of the fun and exciting things that I've done from January-June this year.

2011 started off at our NYE party at Lakeland Banquet and Event Center in St. Clair Shores, MI. We have been going there for 3 years and is the place that Troy and I had our wedding reception.

We had a huge snowstorm.

We went to the beach in January.

My family went to the Detroit Pistons Basketball game for my mom's birthday and we got to shoot a basket on the court (I totally missed)!!

Jaxen introduced himself as the dog behind The Nutritionist Reviews.

We celebrated Easter at my parent's farm and I made my traditional fruit salad

I got accepted in to my dietetic internship and Master's program at Western Michigan University! Probably one of the top best things that happened to me all year!

My mom and brother came to visit us for Holland's Annual Tulip Festival in May.

We took a very fun walk on my parent's farm in May when everything was flooded and just starting to bloom.

My parent's celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on a boat on the Clinton River in June.

We went strawberry picking...delicious and only $1.50 a pound!

Stay tuned for part 2!
