Strong Confident You Review and Giveaway

I am a big fan of Etsy and have done a couple of reviews of different Etsy shops in the past. I recently stumbled upon the store Strong Confident You and fell in love. The shop is filled with beautiful custom workout tank tops. I really enjoyed looking through the shirts and thought that every single one was adorable. For my review, I was sent three custom shirts. The first shirt that I chose says “The only bad workout is the one you miss”. I love this saying because if you skip a workout, you may regret it but if you do a workout, you will almost never regret it. I love motivational workout tanks because sometimes, it can be difficult to get motivated to workout. The next shirt that I chose is the pink “The Nutritionist Reviews” tank top. I chose to get my blog name because I love wearing custom blog shirts to advertise my blog. The final shirt that I chose is actually for a friend who is getting married. I love the sparkly gold writing and can’t wait to give this

Musselman's Big Cup Applesauce Review and Giveaway

I have had a great long lasting partnership with Musselman’s applesauce and have reviewed all of their products over the last few years of blogging. I also had the pleasure of flying to Pennsylvania to tour the Musselman’s facilities and learn all about how their products are made. It was a wonderful experience! Recently, I was sent a surprise package containing Musselman’s latest product: large applesauces. Apples at one of the Musselman's farms These new applesauces are 6 ounces compared to their original 4 ounce containers. I was sent the Musselman’s sweetened and unsweetened 6 ounce containers. Of course everyone knows the typical way to eat applesauce but I wanted to share a couple of ways that I love to eat my applesauce: -I love dipping pretzels in applesauce. There is something about that salty-sweet combination that I love. -I used a container of this 6 ounce Musselman’s unsweetened applesauce in a brownie recipe and it turned out great. I used a

GoodBelly Probiotics Review

GoodBelly Probiotics Review

Goodbelly is a brand of a dairy-free probiotic fruit drink. I was sent some vouchers to purchase their products and try them out. I enjoyed reviewing Goodbelly probiotics so keep reading to see what I thought as a registered dietitian. What are probiotics? What are probiotics? In short, probiotics are “good bacteria”. When you are on antibiotics, all bacteria- good and bad- is killed. Probiotics are often recommended for when someone is on antibiotics to restore the good bacteria in the body. Probiotics help with digestion and supports the immune system. When the bacteria in your body is out of balance, you may start to feel run down. Personally, I think that probiotics are very important. They are naturally found in foods such as yogurt and sauerkraut. When I take an antibiotic, I always take probiotics along with it. GoodBelly is a probiotic drink that has live and active probiotic cultures. These drinks are dairy-free, soy-free and vegan. They are beneficial to those

Mediterranean Tzatziki Salad

Mediterranean Tzatziki Salad

I was recently sent some frozen and dry grains from VillageHarvest to try. I have reviewed these grains before and really like them. They come pre-cooked and frozen and also dry. I love the frozen ones especially because it is so easy to just microwave your grains for a few minutes and have healthy, whole-grains regular to go.   They have a variety of quinoa, wheatberries, brown rice, wild rice, farro, jasmine rice and more. With the products that I was sent, I decided to create a recipe using tzatziki sauce and farmer’s market fresh vegetables.   The recipe turned out great and I have been enjoying this throughout the week for my lunch at work. Mediterranean Tzatziki Salad Ingredients: 1 package frozen Village Harvest wheatberries 1 package frozen Village Harvest quinoa 1 cup tzatziki sauce (you can purchase this cucumber sauce at most grocery stores in the refrigerated section) 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes 2 stalks diced green onion 1 small cucumber,

Pork Chomps Review and Giveaway

Pork Chomps review including what our dogs thought of them, if Pork Chomps are safe for dogs and if they are good for dogs! A few weeks ago, Jaxen and Ava were sent some Pork Chomps to review. My dogs are not the best at reviewing products because for some reason, they seem to love everything (haha). Not too much gets them more excited than rawhides so when I was offered some Pork Chomps for them to try, I could not turn them down. Pork Chomps Review Pork Chomps are chews for dogs that are 100% rawhide free and made from baked pork shin. They are 99% digestible compared to regular rawhides which are only 50-85% digestible. A study was done on dogs that ate Pork Chomps and they had lowered triglyceride and cholesterol levels compared to those who did not eat them. For the dogs review, we were sent a variety of Pork Chomps to try out. I received this package right before we left to go up north to my parent’s farm so I grabbed a package of these for all 5 dogs that would

DaVinci Gourmet Review

DaVinci Gourmet Review

DaVinci Gourmet Syrups I first reviewed DaVinci Gourmet syrups a couple of years ago here on the blog. I have been using these syrups for many years prior to my review because my mom has always loved them. We use them to make fancy coffee drinks that are much cheaper than your typical $4-5 beverage. DaVinci Gourmet Products Until this point, I had only tried the DaVinci syrups for coffee and never the fruity ones. I was sent the lemonade concentrate to try. I made some up for my husband and I for lunch and we both really liked it. It has a tart flavor and 25% juice which is pretty good. My husband is a huge fan of the lemonade-tea combination and this is wonderful added to tea. DaVinci Syrup Flavors We used to always add syrups to our coffee to make it sweet but now, we both mostly prefer to have regular coffee with just milk. On occasion, we like to make ourselves a treat such as using these syrups. I was sent the sugar-free Kahlua syrup and sugar-free chocolate syrups to t

Tervis Review and Giveaway

Tervis Review and Giveaway

Tervis is my favorite brand to drink hot beverages out of. I was first introduced to them through my blog when I reviewed them a couple of years ago. I can honestly say that out of the many hot beverage cups that I have used, I like tervis the most. I choose the 24 ounce size and mostly make decaf tea in them and sometimes regular tea. I love the clear design where you can see the color of beverage you are drinking. In my experience, Tervis keeps your beverage hot anywhere from an hour to 2 hours. If you put the drink in there very hot, it will stay hot for a long, long time. I have had my one Tervis tumbler for 2 years and it is still in perfect shape. This time, I was able to review a 24 ounce hot beverage tumbler as well as a water bottle. The hot beverage tumbler is Fiesta brand and I like the striped design. To me, the colors are unisex and my husband and I can both use it. I am obsessed with the fun flower design on this water bottle! It is one of my favorite p

Contigo Tumbler Review and Giveaway

Contigo is my favorite brand of bottles for cold beverages. I could honestly talk about it all day how much I love my Contigo. I drink at least 1 gallon of water per day and only drink out of my Contigo . About 3 years ago, I first reviewed Contigo and fell in love with their 32 ounce water bottle. I had a pink one for about 2 years and have been using a green one for a few months now. I have tried many water bottles and find this to be the easiest to use which is important to me. Buy it here . I like the 32 ounce size because it is the biggest and perfect for trips and going anywhere. It also helps me to drink more water when I have it sitting right in front of me. This water bottle is literally with me 24/7 and I highly recommend it. Now onto what I am reviewing today. I was sent the brand new Contigo tumblers to review. I was a bit skeptical about them because how could something with a straw in it not leak? Well, it is completely sealed right when you remove the straw

Zing Anything Review and Giveaway

Zing Anything Review and Giveaway

Zing Anything is a company that helps you to infuse your favorite foods and beverages with flavors in a healthy way. I was sent the Aquazinger, Citruszinger and Saladzinger for my review. The Saladzinger lets you add flavors to your favorite homemade salad dressing. You can add all kinds of herbs to the bottom to infuse your dressing with flavor. I chose to infuse my vinegar and oil dressing with parsley and green onion. Other examples that can be added is garlic, onion, citrus, fruit and spices. You just put the herbs and flavors in the bottom of the bottle, add oil and vinegar and shake. I love this option because I really do not like store bought salad dressing and this gives me a great option of making my own and including some delicious fresh flavors. The Aquazinger is perfect for infusing flavor into your water. Many people do not like to drink plain water and prefer to give their water some flavor. This lets you do so in a healthy way by using fresh ingredients. Exa

Salada Tea Review

Salada Tea Review

Until this point, I had not tried Salada teas and was excited to get to try some of their different teas. For my review, I was sent the Tropical Mango Green Tea, Asian Plum White Tea, decaf Digestive Support Green Tea and Brain Boost Green Tea. The tea that I was most excited to try from Salada was the Asian Plum White Tea since I had tried any flavors of tea like this in the past. It is a light tea with a fruity plum flavor. I really enjoyed it! The Mango Green Tea is delicious and is good both hot and iced. It is fruity and gives you a nice boost of caffeine and antioxidants from the green tea. My favorite of these teas was the decaf Digestive Support tea. It contains a mix of fennel, ginger and peppermint. It is a soothing tea that is perfect to drink after a meal. I like to sip this tea in the evening to help my digestion. Another reason that I like Salada tea is because it is affordable. As fun as it is to try expensive tea, it is not very practical for me

Run or Dye Detroit Race Recap

Run or Dye Detroit Race Recap

I was recently given the great opportunity to be able to participate in the Run or Dye Detroit event. In exchange for a blog post, I was given a free race entry. Run or Dye Detroit took place on September 14th at the Hazel Park Raceway. It was a huge area and right when Troy and I got there, I knew that this was going to be fun. There was so much energy going on everywhere around us. People were dancing, dressed up and costumes and came ready to have a good time.  We arrived early and I'm glad we did- there were so many people! Run or Dye is a race where you get covered in all different colors. The "dye" is made of colored cornstarch and does come out of your clothes when you wash them. The volunteers for the race throw different colors of powder at you and there are color parties where everyone is throwing up different colors.  Throughout the event, we got covered in green, blue, pink, yellow, orange and purple colors. This picture above shows people

Stonefire Naan Review

Stonefire Naan Review

Stonefire Naan Review I have tried Stonefire products in the past and really enjoyed them. I was sent a variety of their products to try and create a recipe with. My favorite Stonefire products are the Tandoor Baked Whole Wheat Naan and the Garlic Naan. Stonefire Naan Recipes This time, I created a couple of fun meals with these products.  I made a quick pizza with the Garlic Naan. I used my homemade yellow tomato sauce (you can use any tomato sauce), fresh shredded sharp cheddar cheese, green pepper and low-sodium green olives. It turned out great baked in the oven for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees. My husband and I both really enjoyed these. Naan into triangles and baked them in the  oven for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. I used them to dip into baked feta spinach dip. It was so good! The naan crisped up very nicely and was better than any pita chips I have had in the past. These are so many different uses for these products .  They make dinners come together quickly and

$50 Babies "R" Us Giveaway

I was recently contacted to share this registry deal going on now called  Sweetest Registry Deal Ever  from Babies "R" Us. While my husband and I are not having kids yet, I thought that this would be beneficial for many of you since you are new moms, are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant at some point.  I love the dark wood on this crib and changing table. Although I have not done a baby registry yet, I checked out the Babies "R" Us site and have talked with other moms and moms-to-be. One of my good friends from work's baby was due yesterday (still waiting for him to be born!) and she told me some of the essentials to register for. She registered for a lot of diapers, breast pump, winter snowsuit, burp cloths and much more. When the time comes for Troy and I to have a child, I will definitely check out Babies "R" Us for the registry. The deal that Babies "R" Us has going on now is that expectant parents and caregivers ca

Simone France Review and Giveaway

Simone France Review and Giveaway

Simone France ins a skincare company that sells different products including toner, scrubs, moisturizers, etc. For my review, I was sent a few of their products to try. My skin in mostly dry with occasional acne. This moisturizer is made for day or night for slightly dry skin. It is also good for sensitive skin. It is rich in vitamins to give your skin a healthy glow. These products do not really have a scent to them which is good for those who like unscented products. I have been using this moisturizer for a few weeks and it is light, non-sticky and moisturizing. The Simone France refining scrub is good for most skin types including normal, oily, dry, acne, redness and sensitive skin. The scrub melts as you add more water so if you like your scrub rougher, do not add a lot of water. If you like a very gently scrub, add more water. I like a rougher scrub to help remove dead skin cells. This scrub does the job! The signature cleansing cloths are great to remove mak

Kusmi Tea Review

Kusmi Tea Review

I have tried a couple varieties of Kusmi tea in the past and was happy to be able to review some of their teas again. I was sent a couple of their detox teas as well as a variety pack of samples of each of their teas. My favorite teas are the Be Cool and the Spearmint Kusmi teas. Both teas are very refreshing and tasty. The Be Cool tea contains lemon verbena, liquourice root and peppermint. It is caffeine free and is supposed to be calming. I like drinking this tea in the evening before bed to help me relax at the end of the day. The Spearmint green tea is a Chinese green tea with spearmint from Morocco . It is very refreshing and I have always been a fan of spearmint so this tea is especially appealing to me. The Kusmi Detox tea is tasty with a combination of mate and green tea with lemon and lemongrass. It is refreshing like the rest of the Kusmi teas. On each tea pouch, it says how long you should brew each kind of tea and at which temperature for optimal results.

The Protein Bakery Review and Giveaway

The Protein Bakery Review and Giveaway

The Protein Bakery specializes in baked goods that are higher in protein than your typical dessert. I have reviewed them before and really enjoyed their products. Between my husband and I, we had fun trying these different products. My husband was very pleasantly surprised to find that he enjoyed the lemon white chip blondie so much. He saved this treat for last since he did not think that he would like it and it ended up being one of his favorite Protein Bakery products. He said that it "was so delicious and was like eating something very decadent". It was not dry and was perfectly moist. I enjoyed the peanut butter cookies a lot. They were soft and filling. The mini peanut butter brownie was great as well. It only has 100 calories, has 7 grams of fat and 4 grams of protein. The ingredients are all recognizable as well. I love the The Protein Bakery mini brownies and blondies because they are sweet and satisfying without a lot of calories. These treats give
