Diet to Go Review

Diet to Go
I was recently sent some meals to try from Diet To Go. Of course I am not on a diet but enjoy eating different types of healthy foods. I was sent 5 breakfasts, lunches and dinners to try out and review. I added the foods that I was sent along with normal foods at home. I did not just stick to the foods that I was sent from Diet To Go.

The first meal seen above was very good. It came with three pieces of french toast, mango cranberry syrup and OJ. I fried up a couple of eggs on the side for some extra protein. The french toast tasted great toasted.

I was also sent this turkey sandwich with Swiss cheese and cauliflower tabouli. This came with 1 1/2 sandwiches which was very filling. I could only eat 1 sandwich. I do wish that this company would use whole grain breads instead of white. I think that that would be an easy upgrade that would not cost much more but would be much healthier.

Another meal that I was sent was this one with a muffin, OJ and yogurt. All together, this has a bit too much simple carbohydrates for my liking but split up, made great breakfasts. I ate the muffin with some eggs one day and the yogurt with nuts in it.

I also really enjoyed the reuben sandwich that was sent. It came with a side of sauerkraut mixed with thousand island dressing. It reheated nicely and was tasty. The dinners were also great with meat, vegetable and starch options including a tasty turkey burger.

The meal plans come in either 1,200 or 1,600 calories. For most people, I would recommend the 1,600 calories because 1,200 calories may not be enough for you. Or you could choose the 1,200 meal plan and add some of your own foods on the side which is what I would do. A 5 day plan with 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 dinners costs $106.24. A discount is available off of your first week.

Some suggestions of what I didn't like:
-Use more whole grains.
-Instead of including so much juice, have people have a piece of fresh fruit on the side.
-I prefer to incorporate these meals along with other foods. If I was not having fresh fruits and vegetables at all, I would not be happy with the plan.
-Higher in sodium than I like.

Overall, I thought that these meals were very tasty. Life has been very busy lately with getting ready for the baby, work, blog, freelance projects and regular summer activities. Having these meals ready to go has been so helpful on busy days.  I like that they come all packaged together so you have a whole meal ready. These may be helpful for someone who wants to eat healthier but does not have a lot of time to cook.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. This sounds like an extremely interesting option to choose from, especially if you're busy or don't like to prepare large meals for yourself. I do agree though, they could have included healthier options like the whole grain bread. All in all I think it's an interesting idea!
