Diet-to-Go Review

Homemade food is great but when you are short on time, pre-made meals can be a great choice. Since having Adalyn, we have definitely been more busy and shorter on time. For lunches, it has been really nice to take pre-made meals such as these ones from Diet-to-Go for a meal ready to eat in just a few minutes.

This meal service comes with breakfasts, lunches and dinners. You can choose whether you want 1600 calories or 1200 calories. You have your choice of low-fat, low-carb or vegetarian. For my review, I went with the low-fat, 1600 calorie plan since that is most like a regular diet.

You can order either 5 or 7 days worth of meals. Also, if you do not want breakfast as part of this plan, you can purchase just lunch and dinner. Without a discount, for the 5 days of food that I was sent, it would cost $132.99 for 15 meals. That ends up being $8.87 per meal.

I think that the food from Diet-to-Go is tasty. The meals are very filling and include more than I would eat sometimes at a meal. I prefer to do smaller meals and lots of snacks so at times, I saved some of the sides for later.

My favorite meal in this order was black bean soup with a hot pretzel on the side. I love hot pretzels and the soup was filling and flavorful. My husband really enjoys taking the lunches and dinners to work since they keep him full during his workday. He does not have time to snack as a teacher during the day so a satisfying meal like this is important for him.

What I do not like about this service is how many refined carbohydrates it has an the canned fruit. I would prefer for the meal to say "have an apple on the side" as opposed to serving canned fruit with added sugars. Also, I would prefer whole-grains to refined grains.

If I were to review Diet-to-Go again, I would like to try out the vegetarian menu because looking at it, it has tons of delicious looking meals such as Moroccan lentil salad, Armenian stew and black bean and feta cheese wrap.
