Green Onion Grilled Salmon

A couple of years ago, my husband and I really started to enjoy seafood. Neither of us grew up having a lot of it but we have enjoyed experimenting with cooking with seafood. My husband actually came up with and created this recipe (!!!!). All I did was take the pictures. That is the best kind of meal.   We used the salmon that we received from Sizzlefish. This salmon was so fresh, it was not fishy at all. Also, compared to other kinds of salmon, it had very few bones in it which was nice. Our daughter also loved this recipe and it was her first time trying salmon.   We cooked this salmon on a cedar plank which was received from Sizzlefish. It really added a great flavor to the salmon. This recipe is easy too. Just toss together a marinade, let it sit for an hour, then grill.      Green Onion Grilled Salmon Ingredients: 2 salmon fillets 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 green onions, diced 2 tsp garlic powder Directions:

Tips for Staying Refreshed and Revitalized

This post is sponsored by Starbucks Refreshers. All opinions and sleep deprivation are my own ; ). Why yes, we are talking about sleep again! Adalyn is back to sleeping kind of crazy. She is going to bed easier but then wants to wake up for the day between 4:30 and 5 AM. This leaves Troy and me feeling exhausted. Trying to work full-time, run my blog, take care of the home and most important of all- be a good wife and mom is very hard when I am short on sleep. I am not good at taking a nap at all. I lie down and then think of 10 other things that I need to be doing instead. Therefore, I rely on other things to keep me feeling refreshed and revitalized. It is so important for me to feel good. I want to feel great and be energized, not just get by. I want to have the energy to go to the pool, for a walk or to play with my baby after work. Here are some of my personal tricks for feeling refreshed and revitalized: 1. Eat great - You knew I was going to say that! As a reg

Why Oral Health is Important to Me

I participated in this sponsored campaign on behalf of REACH® and One2One Network. All opinions are my own. Good oral hygiene is something that is very important to me. My sister is a dental assistant and keeps my family and I informed on what we should be doing for our oral health regularly. For my career, I am a dietitian that works with elderly people and see what poor oral hygiene can do to your teeth. Therefore, taking good care of my teeth is essential. (Please note: these pictures of my girl were taken a few days after I wrote this post- she found this toothbrush and started using it- I had to update my post since these were great!!). I make sure to brush my teeth at least twice per day but usually 3-4 times. I also floss daily. My one problem with oral health that my dentist always notes is that I eat foods that stain my teeth. Whoops! What can I say? Berries, coffee and tea are some of my favorites. It is easy at the end of a long day to forget to brush your teet

Simple White Sangria

Simple White Sangria

Customize this Simple White Sangria with your favorite fruits for a delicious beverage on a hot day! I love wine and it is my favorite alcoholic beverage. Sometimes, when you can't drink alcohol or don't want to drink alcohol, it is hard because you may feel like you do not fit in. This past summer, I was not drinking alcohol. That summer included my brother's wedding, my husband's 30th birthday party, my sister-in-laws bachelorette party, my baby shower, my sister-in-laws bridal shower, etc. I can have a good time without alcohol of course and often choose to even when others are drinking. Some of these times though, it would have been really nice to have something that I could have drank when I couldn't have any alcohol. For example, at the bachelorette party, I wanted to be included but felt weird having nothing to drink when other people were drinking. I recently learned about Fre Alcohol-Removed wines. This is a great product because they taste like

Fruit and Granola Yogurt Cups

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #QuakerRealMedleys #CollectiveBias Most mornings, we need to have a quick breakfast. My go to options are oatmeal with peanut butter and cranberries, Greek yogurt with fruit and cold cereal with milk and fruit. I recently found another breakfast option that I enjoyed for a quick meal. They are called Quaker® Real Medleys® Yogurt Cups and they are a new product. All you have to do is add cold milk and you have yourself a breakfast on-the-go. I decided to eat mine topped with some fresh plums and peaches along with a bit of pumpkin seeds. These cups are filled with Quaker oats and are very filling. With the milk added, one cup is 290 calories which is about what I go for when I have a breakfast. I want something that will be satisfying and fill me up. For something that is different than my usual breakfast, this is great. These are rich in whole grains which I always tr

Amwell- Doctor's Visits Online

I participated in the Amwell blog program as a member of One2One Network. I received compensation but all opinions are my own. Since I had Adalyn, I have had a lot of questions that I have wanted to ask a doctor. Some for her, and some for me. For example, why is my belly button sticking out? Do I have a hernia? (My brain works too much sometimes).  Questions that I have had for Adalyn's doctor: Is this congestion okay? When should we start solid foods? Should my baby be on vitamin D drops? Etc, etc. Sometimes I made doctors appointments for these questions but other times, I did not. It would be helpful to be able to ask some simple questions to a doctor online that do not need to be examined in office. I recently learned about a company called Amwell . Amwell is a telehealth company where you can have online visits with certified licensed doctors. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days per week. You can get an appointment quickly which would be awesome if you

Fun Products Review Part 2

1. Soleil Mimosa - I love a good adult beverage every now and again and enjoyed trying these Soleil Mimosas. They bottles are awesome bright colors which I just loved. We got these at the perfect time, right before guests were coming over to celebrate my husband's birthday. I threw a couple of bottles in the fridge to get them cold and served them that evening. The pineapple mimosa was amazing. I was expecting it to possibly taste too sweet or fake flavored but it was not like that at all. It tasted just like fresh pineapple juice and champagne. I shared it with my family and they all enjoyed it! They also have mango, pomegranate and orange mimosas. They alcohol percentage is lower (8%) than wine. I was impressed with these and would buy them again, especially for a brunch where you want mimosas. 2. VONBON - We were sent this adorable dress for Adalyn from VONBON. It is very comfortable and she was able to crawl and take a few steps in it. The material is stretchy an

WaterWipes for Baby's Sensitive Skin + Giveaway

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for  WaterWipes . I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. We love WaterWipes products and have been using them since our daughter was born back in September. They work well, clean her up as they are supposed to and most important of all, are gentle on her skin. We have purchased these at our local stores and they are similar in price to other brands. I bought these ones from Babies "R" Us in Roseville, MI. I love that they are not made with harmful chemicals but are made with 99.9% water and 0.1% fruit extract from grapefruit seeds. They are a more natural option for your baby and are chemical free. I do not want to put anything harmful on my baby's skin of course and these are perfect for her. Adalyn has only had a minor diaper rash a couple of times and nothing major and I think a big part of that is only usin

Blueberry Mojitos

Blueberry Mojitos

These blueberry mojitos are the perfect beverage for a hot day! Full of flavor and delicious! It is blueberry season! In Michigan in July, the blueberries are ready to be picked. I have not gotten to pick blueberries yet this year but the ones from the store have been better than ever. The flavor is just perfect. On my honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico, I fell in love with mojitos. I drank the ones with alcohol then and when we went to Mexico again last year and I was pregnant, I drank the virgin ones. Both are great! Mojitos are one of the only mixed drinks that I enjoy. They are fizzy, sweet, tangy from the lime and just delicious. On a recent trip to Saugatuck, MI at a delicious Italian restaurant, I had a raspberry mojito which was awesome. Then, I realized how many different types of mojitos that you can make. Basically to keep it a mojito, you just needed the mint, lime and sparkling water. Blueberry Mojitos Ingredients: 1 12 oz can Vintage sparkling water
