Costco Moms Hour + Chocolate Berry Shake

I was recently reading a local blog near me talking about the Costco Moms Hour and I immediately put it into my phone to make sure to go to! On November 4th at 9 AM, you can go to Costco (even if you are not a member) and have a free breakfast, try samples and participate in giveaways. It is not just for moms- anyone can go! Luckily, my local store is participating so I plan to go. We are members of Sam's Club and I am excited to check out Costco to see how we like it! The event happens before Costco is open to its members which is nice so the store won't be too crazy. They are having a special offer if you want to signup for a membership that day.

Products I've Been Loving in 2016 Part 29

1. Belabumbum Maternity Activewear I have heard about Belabumbum for awhile for their nightgowns and maternity sleepwear and recently learned about their maternity activewear. I was sent the yoga jogger pant in grey heather seen above and I pretty much haven't taken them off since I took this photo. They are so comfortable and feel really good on my growing bump. I have worn them for walks but mainly love them for lounging around. With the weather getting colder, these are perfect!

7 Foods to Eat During Pregnancy

This post was sponsored by Nature Made ®  as a part of an Ambassador Program for Influence Central. I am now in the second trimester of pregnancy and feeling a lot better. My energy is mostly back, food aversions are gone and for the moment, pregnancy hormones are under control. The main two things that I want to note about food are that I am eating so, so much right now- I am constantly hungry and that I have the biggest food cravings. With Adalyn, I didn't have any specific cravings- I just enjoyed pizza and lemonade quite a bit but nothing like now. I have to have Sour Skittles, Rueben sandwiches, beef barley soup, etc. It is so crazy and like nothing I have experienced. When I get a craving, I cannot get that food out of my head until I have it. It's kind of fun!

Turkey, Swiss and Cranberry Quesadillas

Turkey, Swiss and Cranberry Quesadillas

Turkey, Swiss and Cranberry Quesadillas take 10 minutes to make and are full of your favorite Thanksgiving flavors without all the work! I love the food that is served at Thanksgiving so much! Turkey, sweet potatoes, homemade cranberry sauce, dad's stuffing, mom's sweet and sour green beans, mashed potatoes and more! I get so excited for it and pretty much never get sick of the leftovers before they are gone. The food is awesome! In fact, we are lucky enough to get to eat two Thanksgiving dinners each year. We have lunch at my parent's house and dinner at one of Troy's Aunt's houses. It is so great.

The summer is a super busy time for us and so is early fall. I am excited now that the weather is getting cooler to plan some get-togethers at our house with family and friends. The cooler months is a good time to have smaller parties at home really getting to spend some one on one time with loved ones. This dish would be great made in smaller quantities for a party or doubled or tripled for larger gatherings.

1. Gladditudes Maternity Tops I loved the Gladditudes maternity tops when I was pregnant with Adalyn. They have a long and stretchy t-shirt design that worked really well with my growing belly. Since I am pregnant around Halloween for the first time, I chose this sugar skull t-shirt. I am not dressing up for Halloween this year- just don't feel like it. But, this shirt is perfect for being in the holiday spirit. In this photo, I am 15 weeks pregnant.

Products Adalyn's Been Loving Part 7

1. B. Toys I fell in love with B. Toys long before we even used them. I was at my friend's house when Adalyn was a couple of months old and I saw the music set she had for her daughter from B. Toys and I thought that it was the coolest looking set ever. I instantly went to their website and checked out what else they had to offer. We got the Wee MD set and it is one of Adalyn's very favorite toys right now. She loves to give us shots, medicine, check our ears/hearts/knees, etc. It is the perfect doctor kit for kids and comes in the most fun colors.

Our Biggest Purchase for Baby #2

Our Biggest Purchase for Baby #2

Before I was pregnant with baby #2, I knew that I wanted a BOB stroller when we had more kids. We have had our share of junky strollers and I was DONE with them. We walk every single day with our stroller, sometimes multiple times per day. We go everywhere with a stroller: zoo, mall, vacations, outdoor concerts, etc. I decided that with as much walking as we do, we needed a great stroller that was easy to push, didn't wobble around, rust, etc. I looked for the best rated stroller that I could find and all signs pointed to the BOB. My friend Katie from Mom to Mom Nutrition  has a double BOB and I pushed it one time and decided from that moment on, I needed one for myself when we had a second baby.

How I'm Staying Fit in the First Trimester

Thank you Florastor® Daily Probiotics for sponsoring this post. Visit your local retailer to pick up your bottle of Florastor® Daily Probiotics to complement your active lifestyle! During the first trimester, it can be easier to lay on the couch and sleep instead of exercise but I learned early in my first pregnancy that the way to feel my best is to exercise daily. It can certainly be hard to get motivated, especially when you feel exhausted and sick. During and after exercise, I felt better every single time compared to when I didn't exercise. It actually helps me feel a lot more energized!

1. DL RevAMP As you know, I am not a fan of diets or cleanses but instead, if I have been eating poorly, like to incorporate more healthy foods into my diet. I love the food from DL RevAMP which I have had before and is a great reason to eat healthy. I love the salads because they come totally prepared and I have a healthy meal ready to go. My husband, daughter and I all like these.

Maple Glazed Apple Fritter Bread
October 12, 2016

Maple Glazed Apple Fritter Bread

Maple Glazed Apple Fritter Bread tastes like your favorite doughnut but is healthier made with whole-wheat, fresh apples and a protein-rich maple drizzle! I've seen recipes for apple fritter bread all around the internet and have wanted to make it for years. When we get doughnuts, apple fritters are always my top choice. They are huge, moist and filled with little apple chunks. I love them! Obviously donuts are not healthy or something that you can eat everyday so I decided to make my own recipe using a similar recipe to the Almond Cashew Butter Banana Bread that I made since that turned out so well and was the best homemade bread that I had made. This bread is whole-wheat, uses fresh apples and even has a protein rich glaze on top which is made of Greek yogurt, protein and maple syrup. So good! The drizzle was inspired by my Cranberry Scones with Coconut Vanilla Drizzle that I made last year.

10 Favorite Things to Do With My Daughter

If you have been reading my blog for a bit, you know that my daughter is my world. People I work with joke "it's sad you don't like your daughter" because I am constantly talking about her. Today, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite things to do with my daughter who just turned two years old. 1. After work snacks- I pick up Adalyn from my mom's or mother-in-laws almost every day and after work, we usually sit together and have a snack. I love this time together! We have the same taste in food so it works out really well. Lots of fruit for us!

Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream
October 10, 2016

Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream

Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream has 6 simple ingredients, is much healthier than typical ice cream and takes 5 minutes to make! Nutrient packed with bananas, real pumpkin and protein! Whenever I post a banana ice cream recipe or "nice cream", it becomes one of my most popular posts. Very understandably so because banana ice cream is delicious. Every time that I eat it, I have a hard time believing that it is as healthy as it is. It tastes rich, creamy and delicious. Banana ice cream is so customizable too. I have made Oatmeal cookie banana ice cream , Chocolate peanut butter banana protein ice cream , Mint chocolate chip protein ice cream  and 3-ingredient strawberry banana ice cream . Since it is the fall and I am not ready to give up frozen treats just yet, I decided to make some pumpkin spice banana ice cream.

What to Do, Where to Stay, What to Eat in Grand Rapids

Having grown up in Michigan, I have always heard of Grand Rapids. When Troy and I lived on the West side of the state, I did a 5 week dietetic internship at one of their hospitals there and got to love the city. I have attended a few blog events there in the last couple of years and finally got to go for fun with my family.

How to Feel Your Best During the Holidays

This post was sponsored by Nature Made ®   as a part of an Ambassador Program for Influence Central. Maybe this post is a little early but I know that Canadian Thanksgiving is right around the corner followed by Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. They will be here before you know and I can't wait! I love the holidays. I am not someone who recommends dieting during the holiday season, skipping meals or anything like that. Part of the family enjoying Christmas Eve dinner last year! Adalyn is chowing down of course! I would not feel my best if I did these thing so I certainly would not recommend it for anyone else. In fact, some of the practices that people recommend to keep off weight gain during the holiday season are downright dangerous. I'm here to give you my best tips for feeling your best all through the holidays.

Swiss Apple Chicken Casserole

Swiss Apple Chicken Casserole

Swiss Apple Chicken Casserole is simple to make and loaded with creamy Swiss cheese, fresh apples, butternut squash and celery for a hearty and delicious family meal! We were recently up at my parent's farm in the Thumb of Michigan for the weekend and it was so exciting to see all of the apples getting ready to be picked soon (early September). There were a few ground fall apples ready (when they fall on the ground, they are still good usually and tend to be riper than the ones on the trees). My 2 year old daughter and I had a blast going around and trying each kind of apple. She is fruit crazy like I am and we could not get enough of it.
