Michigan Cherry Salad with Cherry Vinaigrette

Michigan Cherry Salad with Cherry Vinaigrette is a perfect simple meal with grilled chicken, dried cherries, blue cheese, pecans, spinach and a homemade cherry vinaigrette. I am so excited for the warmer weather! This Michigan Cherry Salad with Cherry Vinaigrette is perfect for eating outdoors on a beautiful summer day. We have started to have our meals on our patio and spend more time outdoors. I love it! Adalyn and I have enjoyed being active and running around every day. She always tells me right before she takes a nap, "If I take a good nap, we get to go on a walk outside and eat popsicles". Not a bad plan! Today, I want to share this Michigan Cherry Salad with Cherry Vinaigrette as a healthy meal option.

Hawaiian Chicken Kebabs

Hawaiian Chicken Kebabs

Hawaiian Chicken Kebabs are the perfect grilled dish with tangy marinaded chicken, fresh, juicy pineapple, colorful bell peppers and red onions! It is almost summertime meaning that it is time for all things grilled! Troy and I just bought a new gas grill after our old one kicked it and we are loving it. I have a list of a bunch of grilled recipes that I want to try and am finally getting around to making these kebabs with pineapple, chicken, peppers, onions and a sweet, tangy marinade that I've been wanting to make for quite awhile now.  These skewers are pretty easy to make and just require marinading time. Funny story, my sister made similar kebabs last year and brought them over my house to grill. We were eating them and they tasted amazing but we realized that the chicken had gotten kind of mushy/gooey. We could not figure out what had happened.  ***Keep reading for a Grand Taste Event giveaway!

The Best Products of 2017 Part 12

1. Tobi Clothing I first tried out Tobi clothing back in 2016 and was a big fan. I love their variety and that their styles are at the height of fashion (which I need a little help with these days!). When Tobi contacted me to partner together again, I was so excited. I had just had Oliver two weeks before and was excited for some new clothes- so sick of my maternity clothes! **Keep reading for a Glamourmom giveaway!

Bringing Home Baby Product Guide 9

1. LittleIndians2 Baby Tractor Goodies I am so excited to share these absolutely adorable items that I was sent from the LittleIndians2 Etsy shop. I love them so much and they are my favorite cutesy baby items. My dad has both an Oliver tractor and a John Deere tractor so we have always loved tractors. In fact, that is kind of how my husband and I met. I was at a party at Troy's frat and I noticed a picture of a John Deere tractor in his room (which is obviously very rare at college) and that is how we first got to talking.

Peanut Butter Cup Frozen Yogurt
May 24, 2017

Peanut Butter Cup Frozen Yogurt

Peanut Butter Cup Frozen Yogurt is a healthier treat with only 3 ingredients, is packed full of protein with Greek yogurt and tastes like an indulgent dessert with chunks of creamy peanut butter cups and the creamiest ice cream base! When I first planned to make this frozen Greek yogurt , I thought that it would have a healthier, lighter taste to it. I was so pleasantly surprised when it came out being the richest and creamiest ice cream that I had ever eaten. I made Peanut Butter Cup Frozen Yogurt when my mom was watching Adalyn and then brought it over my parents house to try.  My mom who is not even much of a sweets person loved this and even had seconds. I cannot wait to make more ice cream with Greek yogurt. The key is not letting it freeze too much and if it does, you have to give it plenty of time to defrost because otherwise, it will be too hard and icy.

In May and June each year, strawberries and rhubarb are at their best. Rhubarb cooks up so deliciously in any kind of desert or breakfast dish and strawberries are at their sweetest. Just look how dark and delicious these strawberries look (you will just have to trust me that they tasted amazing too!).

The Best Products of 2017 Part 11

1. Evolve Fitwear Clothing When I saw these pants on Instagram, I had to have them! One of my readers tagged me in an IG giveaway for them and I couldn't stop thinking about them since. They were the perfect pants for me. They are covered in different types of lettuce and I think that they are the cutest. The Organicgirl lettuce spinach long leggings are from Evolve Fitwear. They are good quality and are quite thick for leggings (in a good way). They are comfortable for working out and cute enough to wear out- especially as a dietitian. I want to wear these to work one day- I'll have to see how I can do that!

1. Teapigs Tea I love drinking tea, especially decaf tea in the evening with my husband when we watch a show. It is one of our things that we love to do together. I love trying any unique flavors of tea because I love variety. When I saw popcorn tea from Teapigs, I had to try it! It is a roasted rice tea and does have kind of a popcorn flavor. I really enjoyed it!

1st and 2nd Pregnancy, Labor and Recovery Differences

The idea for this post had me up for the day at 4:30 AM right after feeding Oliver 6 days postpartum. I'm tired but I had ideas flowing and wanted to share them. My first and second pregnancies, labor and deliveries and recoveries from birth are so different from each other that I can't even wrap my head around them. It is crazy how much things can change from kid to kid. I want to share these changes with you today. Keep reading to see how I tried out Amwell's new lactation support services!

Flourless Banana Nut Pancakes
May 16, 2017

Flourless Banana Nut Pancakes

Flourless Banana Nut Pancakes require only 4-ingredients, are ready in 10 minutes and are nutritious with pecans, bananas, oats and eggs. That's it! This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Rubbermaid ®.  All opinions are my own. It took me awhile to get into the banana-egg pancake trend (though I love my Pumpkin Spice Pancakes ) but once I did, I couldn't stop making them! It was late one Saturday night when I was on Facebook and saw a video someone making 2-ingredient pancakes with bananas and eggs. I realized that I had both of the ingredients so I decided to give it a try. I pretty much never keep things super simple so I added some oats and pecans. They were delicious and so easy to make! My husband, daughter and I all loved them. That is a win in my book! I made these pancakes two more times in a short period of time when I finally decided, if we like them that much, they so will my readers! ***Keep reading for a Rubbermaid giveaway!

10 Things We Can't Wait to Do This Summer

Disclosure: This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.  #PurexCrystalFresh  #CollectiveBias We absolutely love the summer. The weather is beautiful, there is always so much to do and Troy is off work all summer long because he is a teacher. This means lots of family time which means the world to me! Each year, I make a huge summer bucket list of everything that we want to do that summer. I make sure to check on the list often so we do not forget to do any of our favorite things (and try out new things!). 1. Plant a garden We love gardening and always plant about 6 tomato plants and 2 bell pepper plants. Adalyn was able to help us plant it last year and this year, I know that she will be an even bigger help. I hope that our crop does well so that we can can lots of pasta sauce and salsa!

I was recently sent two super cute dresses from D. Liles- the Hannah and Chloe dresses. They are classic and beautiful. How to Get Your Toddler to Eat More Fruits and Vegetables

Before Adalyn was born, I was determined to have a child that loved fruits and vegetables. As a dietitian, I especially know the importance of vitamins, minerals and fiber that are in produce and how necessary they are for children to grow "healthy and strong" as Adalyn says that veggies make you. I am super lucky that I have about the least picky kid on the planet and want to share some of our tips in getting her to love produce like we do.

Bruschetta Chicken
May 08, 2017

Bruschetta Chicken

Bruschetta Chicken is ready in just 20 minutes and is the perfect fresh and flavorful recipe with  tomatoes, garlic,  Parmesan  cheese and basil! Life is a little bit crazy over here in the Hernandez household. We have a new baby and a toddler and are getting into the swing of things as a family of 4. Overall so far, our transition is so much easier than I expected (please do not let me be jinxing it!). The ease of our transition has to do with a few things.  Troy has been super helpful doing most of the diaper changes, helping with Adalyn and helping with things around the house. Adalyn has been a helpful big sister grabbing Oliver's pacifier or blanket if he needs it. And so far, compared to Adalyn, Oliver is a chill baby. Let's wait and see what happens...

10 Tips for Portion Control

As a dietitian, I get asked nutrition questions all the time. Family and friends always have questions for me and I am happy to answer them. A common question is about portion control. I am a dietitian that does not promote any fad diets. I believe in eating an overall healthy lifestyle with some treats thrown in (I just had a homemade rice krispie treat right before starting to write this post). I am not going to tell you never to eat French fries or to skip a family members homemade dessert. I think that part of being healthy includes having some treats. In order to be healthy though, some moderation is key. This includes portion control. I want to share some tips with you for portion control today for an overall healthy lifestyle.

Panzanella Salad
May 03, 2017

Panzanella Salad

Panzanella Salad is full of flavor with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, red onion, dill, garlic French bread croutons and a homemade Italian dressing! To me, there is nothing like a delicious salad. When I find a salad recipe that I love, I make it over and over again. Fresh vegetables + a delicious dressing = heaven to me! I have been a big fan of panzanella salad for years. Ironically, I have shared 2 unique panzanella recipes ( Pizza Panzanella Salad  and Grilled Tofu Panzanella Salad ) before ever sharing a recipe for a classic panzanella salad. With the weather warming up, it is time to find all of the best produce and chop it up in a salad and top with homemade toasted garlic bread pieces. All of the veggies and croutons are drizzled in a homemade Italian style dressing. You won't be able to get enough.
