You guys! I am so excited  to share this winner of a dessert with you! I have had "apple roses" on my huge list of recipes that I want to make for forever but was convinced that I would not be able to do it. See, I am not a baker. I lack the patience it takes for just about everything with baking and am not necessarily artistic. These apple roses are so easy to make though that anyone could do it, really!

To make the apple roses, you just take a peeler to an apple- I used a pink lady apple and a gala apple. You start peeling around the apple- not just the skin but the flesh too, until you have about a 6-10 inch piece of apple. Then, you just start rolling it up until it looks like a flower. Ta da! Magic!

I call these 3-ingredient because that is how I made them but if you want a sweeter dessert, you can add a bit of honey. If you don't plan to eat them right away, squeeze a bit of lemon juice on top before baking along with the honey.

My plan when making these was to buy puff pastry but it was super expensive. I saw these mini phyllo cups for fraction of the cost and thought that they would be even better for this recipe. I was right! Also, two of the mini phyllo cups were only 30 calories helping to make this quite a light dessert. The filling is just drippy peanut butter. When you bake them up, they taste delicious with all of the sweet and melted peanut butter. So easy, healthy and delicious.

3-Ingredient Apple Rose Tarts

Servings: 5
Serving size: 3 mini tarts
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

15 mini phyllo cups- in the frozen section
1/2 cup drippy peanut butter
2-3 large apples (gala, honeycrisp or pink lady work well)
Optional: drizzle of honey, lemon juice

Instructions:

1. On a baking sheet, lay out phyllo cups and fill with about 1-2 teaspoons of peanut butter.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
3. Take a peeler and peel 15 6-10 inch long pieces of apple (skin and flesh). Take apple pieces and roll up tightly (but carefully).
4. Press apple roses firmly into peanut butter so they do not unravel.
5. Optional: drizzle with honey and lemon juice.
6. Bake for 10 minutes and enjoy!
**If you like a sweeter treat, drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
**If you plan to eat later, make sure to squeeze a little lemon juice over the apples so that they do not brown.
Enjoy!
