Whole Grain Sampling Day Giveaway

Whole Grain Sampling Day Giveaway

Happy Whole Grain Sampling Day  (tomorrow- 4/1)! According to a 2014 survey by the International Food Information Council, 72% of consumers are seeking more whole grains. Yay! This is one of the biggest food tips that I recommend to people. Whole grains contain fiber and more vitamins than refined grains. Choose whole grains such as whole wheat pasta, cereals, bread, crackers, etc. In honor of this food day, I have some whole grain cereals that I recently tried to share with you!  _________________ 1. Good Life Granola - I found Good Life Granola in Cooking Light magazine and was immediately intrigued because it said that the granola was made in Michigan. I looked up their website and found that it is made in Holland, MI. This is so awesome because that is where my husband used to work when we lived in West Michigan and where we did all of our shopping. I love trying local products! I was sent 4 granolas: apple crisp, nut-free, original and cranberry cherry. My favorite is th

Adalyn 6 Month Update

Seriously, where does the time go? I am sitting here tearing up thinking about how amazing and quickly the last 6 months have gone. How much has happened in this short amount of time and how much love Troy and I feel for this little girl. Honestly, becoming a parent is the very best thing that has ever happened to me and I love being Adalyn's mom. Okay, onto the 6 month details. Clothing size : Mostly 6 month clothes, some 3 month still fit Diapers : Moved up to size 2! Weight : 14 lbs 8.5 oz (25th percentile) Height : 26.5 inches (75th percentile) Feedings : We started solids right before 5 months and haven't looked back. Adalyn has tried so many new foods and loved them all so far. I make Adalyn all of her food homemade and it is so simple. Right now, we feed her just one time per day while we eat our dinner. She loves eating while we are. Adalyn is an amazing eater and opens her mouth when she sees the food coming her way and can eat a good amount

The First Years Feeding Review

The First Years Feeding Review

Feeding Adalyn is one of my favorite things! It is so fun to give her new foods that she has not tried yet. I was sent some great products from The First Years which will be great for feeding baby and for when she is a toddler. Right now, she can use the adorable Disney spoon which she is gnawing on in these photos- she loves it!  We were sent some sippy cups, the inside scoop bowl and the inside scoop section plate. The bowl and plate have curved rips to help your child feed themselves easier. It allows them to put more food on their fork or spoon.  Also, we were sent a Disney princess potty which we are putting away for when that time comes. I am hoping that having a fun looking potty will help Adalyn with potty training?? My husband is a huge Disney fan and loves these Disney princess sippy cups that we sent! They have a one piece lid which makes it simpler to clean. The other cups that we were sent have a simple straw to use which Adalyn will use when sh

KidzCanDesign Review

Today, I have the neatest company ever to share with you!! It is called KidzCanDesign and is a company that sells personalized jewelry with your child's art, handprint, picture, etc. The reason that I am so excited about it is because the jewelry looks just like Adalyn and I cannot believe it. I ordered two necklaces for my review and they both turned out perfect. I showed a friend the necklace and she even said that it looked just like Adalyn. I think that the necklaces are very affordable at only $59.99 each (starting at). For having your child on a piece of jewelry, that is a great price. Here is the picture of Adalyn that I sent in to compare it to the necklace. I would definitely do this for a gift for people or would ask for it for a gift for myself (Mother's Day anyone?!?). You can choose a classic finish, antique finish or gold over silver. I chose one that was classic and one gold over silver. I am more of a gold person so I like that necklace a bit more.

2015 Carter's Spring Fashions

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for  Carter’s . I received a complimentary gift card to facilitate my review and thank me for my participation. We are a big fan of Carter's clothing in our family. They have so many different adorable outfits and since Adalyn was first born, she has been wearing lots of Carter's clothing. My favorites off the top of my head is the fleece footie pajamas which wash nicely and stay soft as well as keep Adalyn warm at night. Also, last year, they had a super adorable bike line of clothing that was aqua and hot pink that I just love (and bought multiple sizes in so Adalyn can keep wearing this line). I was recently provided a gift card to Carter's to shop their spring line. I have actually never been to a Carter's store before but Carter's is sold in most stores that sell baby clothing so we purchase ours from their. I had fun going through their site and choosing some adorable outfits

MAM Baby Review and Giveaway

MAM Baby Review and Giveaway

We were sent some of the MAM Baby products back when I was pregnant with Adalyn. We like the bottle brush a lot! This time, I was sent a couple of sippy cups and learn to brush set from MAM. After reading about the need to start baby on a cup sooner than later, I decided to try the starter cup for Adalyn. It is for babies ages 4 months and up. It has a very soft spout, is light, small and spill-free. It also has non-slip handles. I handed Adalyn the cup with a bit of water in it (at 6 months old) and she knew what to do right away! I was impressed. The cup was easy for her to drink out of and I think that we will start doing one of her bottles in a cup. We were also sent the learn to drink cup for ages 8 months and up which will come in handy. It is a bit bigger and does not have the handles like the starter cup. I know the importance of dental health and am excited to use the learn to brush set. Adalyn does not have any teeth yet so we have not started this yet but w

Tips for Weekly Meal Prep

Tips for Weekly Meal Prep

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Bounty. All opinions are my own. A couple of years ago, I shared some tips on meal prep. This is easily the most important part of getting prepared for the week ahead for me. Now, with a baby, it is even more important than ever to be on-the-ball with things. After a long day of work, Troy and I are often too tired to cook from scratch so having some foods on hand that have already been cooked or prepped is amazing. Every Saturday or Sunday morning, I prepare a bunch of food for the following week. I like to make the food in bulk so that it lasts us a couple of meals at least. This is such a lifesaver during the week when I do not feel like cooking. What I make every week changes a lot depending on what I feel like and what we have on hand. This is not all of the food that I eat or cook for the week. It is just some of the food that I make ahead of time to make life easier. Some weeks, I make a lot of food for the week ahead and some

Steps to a Stronger and Healthier Body

Source Making the decision to try to get healthy can be a difficult one. It takes motivation, determination and sticking with your goals. As summer approaches, it is time to work on getting back into shape if you let yourself get off the wagon over the cold winter months. Personally, I slacked on eating healthy at times and now, I am trying to amp up my fruit and vegetable consumption which helps me to feel my best.  Getting back into shape involves several factors including eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep and drinking plenty of water. Eating Right This involves eating a mixture of whole grains, protein and lots of fruits and vegetables. I love the MyPlate method which makes it simple by telling you to make half of your plate full of produce at each meal. It also suggests making at least half of your grains whole grain and eating healthy sources of protein such as chicken, beans, nuts, seeds and dairy.  Sleep As someone who has been recently sleep deprived with

Real Kids Shades Review and Giveaway

Real Kids Shades Review and Giveaway

Eye protection is so important, even at a young age. As it has gotten brighter out with the start of the season changing, I realized how important it is for Adalyn to wear sunglasses. We walk outside most days of the week and since she is still in the infant car seat, the sun is often in her eyes. We were sent a couple pair of Real Kids Shades to review. These sunglasses are so cute! I chose the pink daisy shades and the aqua and blue. Adalyn has been wearing these on walks to help protect her eyes (any to look super cute- of course).  These sunglasses retail for $12.95-$29.95 depending on the pair you choose. They are very flexible and unbreakable- great for kids and babies who love to pull on things. They have an adjustable band that goes around the child's head to stay on right. The sunglasses offer 100% UV protection and have shatterproof lenses. Right now, these are a bit big on Adalyn because she has a small head but they can still be worn. The sunglas
