The Best Products of 2017 Part 31 + Giveaway

My last Products I'm Loving in 2017 post!! What a year of trying new and old favorites of different delicious products. One of my very favorite things to do is try all the food products on the market and this little job gives me the greatest opportunity. For those of you who are newer around here, did you know that that is how The Nutritionist Reviews started out? Completely as a product review blog. I started blogging to share my experiences trying different products. So fun!  This post is all about the pastas! Somehow, I was sent all kinds of pastas to try at once and this is my experiences with them:  1. Modern Table Meals I am loving all of the bean pastas on the market and really feel that they are going to hit it big in 2018. I was sent a big box of samples from Modern Table Meals. Why not make a variety of pasta meals with the bean pastas? These pastas are lentil based and I was especially excited to see the Parmesan Pesto lentil pasta and the Jalapeno Cheddar Mac

Baklava Oatmeal

Baklava Oatmeal

Baklava Oatmeal is a 5-minute hot breakfast with crunchy pistachios, sweet honey and crisp shredded wheat cereal that tastes like your favorite dessert! This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of  The Quaker Oats Company .  All opinions are 100% mine.  What are some of your favorite desserts? One of my top favorite desserts is baklava. I love the crunchy pistachios, sweet honey, crispy phyllo dough and the overall flavor. When there is a tray of baklava, I definitely have at least a few pieces. Baklava is delicious but definitely more indulgent. This baklava oatmeal is so easy to make that you can eat it everyday if you want. I put a poll up on  Facebook   asking which recipe you wanted: baklava oatmeal or baklava overnight oats. The consensus was hot baklava oatmeal because of the cold weather. I am with you! This spring or summer, I will have to make a baklava overnight oatmeal recipe to share! For this recipe, I used oats, milk, honey, pista

Cranberry Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast

Cranberry Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast

Cranberry Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast is the perfect make-ahead breakfast that is full of flavor and perfect to serve to a crowd! I love make ahead breakfasts. My favorites involve baked oatmeal, baked egg casseroles or French toast bakes. They are all simple to make and perfect to serve to a crowd. The fact that you can make it the night before when you may have a little extra time so that it is ready to throw into the oven in the morning is so awesome.

How We Are Getting Through Cold and Flu Season

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ricola Dual Action Honey . All opinions are 100% mine. Sickness has hit in the Hernandez household. We have all been plagued with illness one right after the other. Troy came home with it first with aches and pains and feeling super tired which later turned into a dry cough. Then, both of the kids got runny noses which have lasted two weeks so far. After a week, I thought that I had somehow gotten away with not getting sick even though I was taking care of three sick family members for a week and got hit with it myself. I have had a super sore throat for four days so far and some headaches. It's interesting that we have all had very different symptoms.

How to Take Care of Yourself Postpartum

Disclosure: This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NatureMadePrenatalDHA #CollectiveBias I've been through the newborn stage twice now and it can be tough. You are so tired and physically recovering from childbirth and you now have someone who relies on you quite literally 24/7 to take care of. This stage is so happy with getting to snuggle your new bundle of joy but it can be frustrating and emotional as well. Learning to breastfeed, figuring out how to take care of baby, getting enough rest yourself, etc. can be tough. I was so lucky that my second baby was a lot easier than my first in terms of fussiness making the newborn stage a little easier with number two- plus having some parenting experience already of course. I want to share some of my personal tips for taking care of yourself postpartum to make this stage of life a little easier and to help you feel your best quickly.

Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter Banana Bites
December 12, 2017

Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter Banana Bites

Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter Banana Bites are a simple 5 ingredient snack that takes 5 minutes to make! Enjoy frozen or regular. I love making homemade snacks and even more than me, Adalyn loves it. We both love peanut butter, bananas and pretzels so I knew that this simple 5 ingredient snack would be a hit for both of us. I have been wanting to try this snack for a long time and finally got around to it. I like chocolate but am not the hugest fan so I did not completely submerge these in chocolate. I prefer them half dipped in chocolate or to have chocolate drizzled on top. You can eat these frozen or not-frozen- your choice. I personally love the texture of frozen bananas. They are creamy and remind me of ice cream.

Banana Bread Cheesecake

Banana Bread Cheesecake features a rich, creamy, Greek yogurt cheesecake with a banana bread crust combining two of your favorite treats in one for the perfect dessert! The holiday season is in full swing over at the Hernandez residence! Right after Thanksgiving, we pulled out all of our holiday decor, turned up the holiday music and got to decorating. Our tree comes from my parent's farm which is so special because my dad and husband regularly go and trim the trees so that they the right shape for a tree. A lot of love goes into these trees and we are thankful each year to have them.

Baby Holiday Packing List

The holiday season is here! We just decorated our house with all things Christmas and have creating new traditions with the kids. It is so much fun! For Thanksgiving, we went to three different sides of the family so we were pretty much running around all day. Troy and I spent awhile the day before Thanksgiving packing everything for the kids that we would need for the whole day- our kids are currently 3 years old and 8 months old. It ended up being a ton of stuff! This list is here to help you to know what to bring to visit family around the holidays. These are the things that we packed last week and will be bringing to our different Christmas gatherings over the next few weeks.

Cranberry, Lemon and Orange Cider
December 06, 2017

Cranberry, Lemon and Orange Cider

Cranberry, Lemon and Orange Cider is the perfect non-alcoholic beverage for the holidays that is best served hot but is delicious cold as well! A mix of cranberry, lemon and orange juice with cinnamon and fresh fruit. Growing up, my mom would make this drink all winter long for my siblings and I. We all loved the drink and I recently remembered about it and knew that I had to make it because it is so good. My mom made it with cinnamon hard candies instead of ground cinnamon like I used but both ways are great.

Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Cookies
December 05, 2017

Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Cookies

Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Cookies are made healthier with oats, whole-wheat flour and flax. They are a perfect sweet treat with dried cherries and dark chocolate chips that are soft, slightly chewy and have crisp edges.  The chocolate cherry obsession continues! One chilly, rainy day, the kids were napping and I had somehow finished my blog work for the day and decided that I wanted to make cookies. This is very unusual for me as I am definitely not a baker. I had a bag of dried cherries on hand which I have been obsessed with for most of my life.

Hasselback Potato Gratin
December 04, 2017

Hasselback Potato Gratin

Hasselback Potato Gratin features thinly sliced sweet potatoes and yellow potatoes with a healthier creamy, cheesy sauce and is the best side dish for entertaining! The holidays are almost here! Are you entertaining this year? We are not hosting Christmas Eve or Christmas Day this year but we always bring a dish to wherever we go on each day- typically something that is a little bit lightened up, Amanda-style! We do host a Christmas breakfast though for anyone who wants to come and see the kiddos open their presents. I love this because it is one of the happiest mornings of the year and I love cooking breakfast dishes as well. We are also hosting a little NYE party at our house too so that will be super fun!

Favorite Monthly Food Subscriptions to Gift

 1. Degustabox My favorite box because it comes with a ton of different items to try out and every single month, we end up with new favorites. I loved the Goya pico de gallo this month mixed into eggs and eaten with tortilla chips. The tortillas were the perfect holder for our chorizo eggs with guacamole and salsa this morning for breakfast. We just toast them on the stove for about 30 seconds on each side. My daughter loved trying this festive Mini Panettone. I gave my dad the Bell's seasoning which is perfect for stuffing and he literally used the whole box in one day making 3 large trays of stuffing for Thanksgiving and he froze some as well. This would make an excellent gift for the person in your family who loves to try different foods. They often have Mexican foods as well so this would be great for someone who loves those types of foods- AKA everyone!  2. Mantry Perfect for the man in your life is the Mantry subscription box. They always include foods that we ha
