Roman Meal Review

***Is anyone else's Google Friend Connect box not working? Do you know how to fix it?

Roman Meal is a company that has been around since 1912 making whole grain products. Here is a little bit about the company: based in Tacoma, Washington, Roman Meal makes whole grain breads and cereals inspired by original whole grain recipes dating back to the company’s 1912 beginning. Family owned and operated from day one, Roman Meal is actively involved in ensuring that its products maintain the highest standards of quality and nutrition. In fact, a strong customer appreciation for this commitment to family health and happiness is what Roman Meal attributes to retaining its business and tradition of quality for almost 100 years.

I was sent some of the original cereal with oats, maple hot cereal, cream of rye, and a whole grain bread for review.  My favorite of these products would probably have to be the maple hot cereal.  It contains barley, oats, and rye.  Is is similar to oatmeal but is not as gooey (in a good way!). It has a bit more chew to it. All of the ingredients are simple and it contains 5 grams of fiber (woo hoo!) and 4 grams of protein. You can make it in your microwave and it cooks very fast.  It is not too sweet and contains 9 grams of sugar.  I was not a big fan of the bread I was sent though. It was a little too dry for me and did not have enough flavor.  The original hot cereal is very similar to the maple cereal but without the sugar added.  I like this because I can add whatever flavors that I want to it. My favorite is adding peanut butter and a bit of brown sugar.  I would definitely buy these hot cereals again and will also be using them for baked goods.
