Popcorn is one of those salty snacks that I just can’t get enough of once I start eating it. I was sent a few varieties of the Boom Chicka Pop popcorn to try and really enjoyed it.

Funny story- my dachshund Ava was the first to try this popcorn. We keep the door shut to the room that holds my blogging items so that the dogs do not get them. That morning, my husband went in that room and accidentally left the door a crack open. Ava nosed her way into the room and got a hold of the Boom Chicka Pop sea salt popcorn. I think it is easy to say that this popcorn is dachshund approved (naughty dog!!).

Anyways, I enjoyed trying the Boom Chicka Pop sea salt popcorn. Ingredients are kept extremely simple with only popcorn, sunflower oil and sea salt. This popcorn is only 35 calories per cup which makes it a good snack choice. A serving is 4 cups of popcorn which has 3 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, 7 grams of fat, only 90 mg of sodium (!!!) and 140 calories. I am so impressed that it is so low in sodium compared to most other popcorns.

The Boom Chicka Pop slightly sweet popcorn is very good as well. It is like a healthier version of kettle corn. It has only 37 calories per cup and contains fair trade organic evaporated cane crystals.

I was also sent the Boom Chicka Pop white cheddar popcorn and caramel and cheddar popcorn mix. These popcorns are higher in calories that the others due to extra flavors and sweeteners added. These are still a pretty good choice for a snack- just keep an eye on portion sizes.


I loved that this popcorn contains real ingredients, is a whole grain and makes a good snack option for movie night.
