Adalyn is getting old enough to start watching some movies! I am so excited. While we have not taken her to the theater yet (I am a little too nervous for that- maybe sometime this winter), we have enjoyed watching a couple of movies together as a family at home.

As Christmas approaches, I am trying to teach Adalyn the meaning of Christmas and enjoy with her some of the shows and movies that I watched growing up. We have watched some videos on my phone of different Christmas classics and I know that Troy has some family movies planned. He loves tradition and seasonal movies.

I created these baked chicken tenders with avocado jalapeno dipping sauce for my whole family to enjoy before a family movie. They are kid friendly but if your child does not like spicy, you can just leave the jalapeno out of the sauce or give them a different sauce to enjoy with it.

I love this spicy flair on this dip. It would be perfect for an appetizer paired with salsa, chips and guacamole or as part of a meal with a Mexican loaded salad with lots of veggies. If you like your chicken tenders spicy as well, you can add 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper to the breading mix. Yum!

For this recipe, I used Honey Bunches of Oats cereal for the breading. It is a tasty take on breadcrumbs. I love cooking with cereals because the possibilities are endless. You can make something completely sweet like cereal bars or something savory like these baked chicken tenders. Check out some fun recipe ideas using Post cereals on Pinterest.

I used to love coming home from cross country practice in high school and having a big bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats cereal. Some of my favorite flavors are the honey roasted, almond and strawberry flavors.

I bought my Post cereals from Walmart and was excited to see the packaging have the new movie SING on them! It looks like the perfect movie to watch as a family with Adalyn. She loves songs and animals and I look forward to watching it with her!! SING is having a sweepstakes that can be found at Walmart on the Post cereal boxes for a chance to win $100,000 or free movie tickets! How to enter the sweepstakes: Enter codes that are printed inside the specially-marked boxes into the sweepstakes website.
