Blue Apron Review and Giveaway

French onion soup bread bowl
Today, I have an amazing company to share with you. I recently reviewed food companies Peach Dish and Hello Fresh which sends you the ingredients for fresh meals and you cook them yourselves. I recently found a new-to-me company called Blue Apron which is really great. They have a vegetarian option and a meat option. I chose the vegetarian option so that I could get meals full of a bunch of vegetables.

My husband and I were both extremely impressed with this company. The first meal that we made was the delicious French onion soup bread bowls and salad. I had never made French onion soup homemade before and my husband was so excited for it. It was a simple recipe that turned out delicious. The salad with a homemade dijon vinegar dressing inspired me to start using dijon mustard in my cooking more often. This meal was awesome, homemade, tasty and healthy.

Blue Apron Meals
These are all of the fresh ingredients that came in my Blue Apron box. I also received a bag full of condiments such as vinegar, almonds, Parmesan cheese and everything else we needed for our meals.

Each box comes with enough food to make three different meals. Each meal costs $9.99 per meal, per person (so about $60 for 3 meals). This is a bit cheaper than other companies out there with similar services.

The next meal that we made was the Moroccan vegetable stew. This meal was so impressive because it was like nothing that I had ever had before. It was full of ethnic flavors and was so filling. The meal involved whole wheat couscous (which I had never had before!! We both loved it.), sweet potato, cauliflower, almonds, zucchini and more. It came with a spice mix to add all of the flavor.

Blue Apron includes the full recipe for each meal so that you can recreate the meal using your own ingredients. I saved this recipe to make again in the future. I think that it would be amazing using many different kinds of vegetables. This meal gave us enough leftovers for 1 meal each (served 4 total) which was great.

The last meal that we were sent to make is a vegetarian sushi. My husband and I are not sushi fans but will make it our own by adding a few extra flavors.

I am happy with the fresh ingredients that Blue Apron offers. Everything came very fresh tasting and included the whole grain couscous which I was happy with but also had the sourdough bread which is not a whole grain (okay in moderation).

Giveaway
The giveaway will be for a box of Blue Apron products to make three meals to one lucky winner!! I am very excited about this giveaway because I know the winner will love it.
