For my 26th birthday, which conveniently fell on a Friday, I decided to have an appetizer party with some close family members. I had everyone make an appetizer and made a few of my own too. I have been wanting to make this Mediterranean layered dip for awhile now and finally got the perfect chance to do so. Since it was for my birthday, I also decided to get this cute serving dish from Marshalls. You need the perfect serving dish, for the occasion, right?

This dip is so easy which is part of the reason I wanted to make it. I usually make my own hummus but since ALDI has such delicious and affordable hummus, I decided to buy theirs and save myself some time. You can get everything for this recipe from ALDI at great prices- my personal opinion, not paid to say this!

For this dip, you just top hummus with feta, olives and a bunch of fresh vegetables. Fancy appetizer ready in 10 minutes or so! This would be perfect to bring to a holiday party because it looks like you worked super hard on it but it is actually very simple to make.

For an appetizer, it is actually very healthy. It is not deep-fried, is not loaded with sugar or salt and is produce packed. An appetizer that tastes good and is good for you. That's my kind of appetizer!

Mediterranean Layered Dip

Ingredients:
2 (8 ounce) containers hummus
4 ounces feta cheese
1 finely diced roma tomato
1/2 finely diced cucumber
1/2 finely diced onion
1/2 finely diced bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped  kalamata olives
Juice from 1/2 lemon

Directions: On a serving dish, spread out hummus. Top with feta, olives and all vegetables. Pour lemon juice over vegetables. Serve with pita chips, tortilla chips, bagel chips or crackers.

This dip went over very well! What I love is how fresh it is but how little time it takes to make. I would definitely make this again. It would be great in the summer as well! My guests really enjoyed it which was the goal!
