Drunken Hummus and Toasted Pita Chips

 Drunken Hummus
2 cans of drained and rinsed chickpeas
1/4 cup dry white wine (I used my parent's homemade pear wine)
A few generous shakes of garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper
2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice

Blend all ingredients together in a food processor and enjoy! The wine might sound odd to use in this recipe but it tastes awesome (I swear).

Toasted Pita Chips
Take two whole pitas and toast over the stove until crispy on each side.  You must watch closely because otherwise they will burn.  Remove from heat and cut into small chip size pieces.  Enjoy with your hummus.

I absolutely love this snack because it is fast to make, high in protein, low in fat, and tastes great. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes traditional hummus but would like to kick it up a notch with some additional flavor!
