What helps me to feel my best is daily exercise. It doesn't matter to me what I do or how long I do it for, as long as I get some kind of workout in, I'm happy. This can include walking, running, lifting weights or a workout video.
I have never been a fan of going to the gym. I feel like if I had to drive somewhere to workout, that I would be much less likely to do it on a regular basis. Instead, I invested a small amount of money into some equipment at home so that I can exercise any day I want, anytime I want in any weather. A few years ago, I bought a treadmill on Craigslist for $175 that is doing great.
We also have a mat, a bench press, an exercise ball and some hand weights. We have a TV in the basement next to our workout station to play my workout DVD's. I rarely use that to be honest and play videos off of my computer on the treadmill desk that my husband built me a couple of years ago.
I recently found Grokker which has been making my workouts at home so much easier. There are tons of great videos to choose from and I can get my workout in in no time. I roll out of bed, throw on my workout clothes and shoes and make my way down to the basement to exercise. I love it! By about 7 AM everyday, I have more energy and am ready to start my day.
There are tons of workout options so you can choose what you like the best. If you like something less intense like yoga, they have that. If you prefer a HIIT style workout, they have that too! Videos last 10 minutes to 1 hour. You get a great workout in and get to stay in your own home- I love it!
