Garden Lites Review

I love low-calorie, veggie packed meals so when I heard about Garden Lites, I knew that I had to try them.  They are low calorie, all natural, gluten free, and delicious.  This food can be eaten as a side dish, a light meal, or a heavy snack.

Last night, I was hungry around 8 PM and that butternut squash souffle was staring me straight in the face.  I nuked it up in the microwave and got to eating.  It is delicious.  It tastes just like butternut squash but has heartier texture from the eggs in it.

Here are the nutritional stats: 180 calories, only 2 grams of fat, 5 grams of fiber (!!!!), 9 grams of protein (!!!), 130% Vitamin A, some Vitamin C, iron, and calcium.  The nutritional stats are great.  The only thing that I was not happy about was that there are 18 g of sugar which is quite a bit.  I wish there were less of that.  Also, there is only 100 mg of sodium which is great for a packaged frozen product. I am really impressed with the fiber and protein content.  This is a really filling dish and I could only eat about 1/2 of it at once.  I think it will make a great mid-morning snack on this snowy Saturday.

I can't wait to try the other products and I'm sure that they will taste great too.  Thanks Garden Lites!

  1. Hi Amanda and thanks for allowing me to post a comment =) I was delighted to see the Garden Lites products in the freezer section of our local Whole Foods. The Zucchini Souffle quickly gained my attention and a place in my grocery cart. I don't own a microwave myself [personal conviction] and so opted to heat in the oven per the package instructions. To my great disappointment, I found the souffle inedible =( There was very very little zucchini--nothing at all like the photo that appears on the front of the package. Most of the souffle was dough/bread-like, a bit too sweet, and the few bites I ate left my mouth with an odd and indistinguishable aftertaste. As for myself, I certainly was not impressed and would not recommend it to others. I am happy to know that your experience was more pleasant than mine. Warm regards, Cyndi
