Healthy Whole Grain Plum Crisp

Cooked plums are one of my favorite foods and when I got a 15-20 lb box of fresh plums for $2.00 reduced at my favorite fruit market, I knew it was time for some plum crisp.

This recipe for my plum crisp turned out really well! I served it to my family one day and to my husband's parents another day. It is good hot, cold or room temperature.

Healthy Whole Grain Plum Crisp

For the filling
3 lbs fresh plums, chopped into bite sized pieces
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup orange juice

For the topping
1  1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup unpacked brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Toss chopped plums with orange juice and sugar until well coasted and place fruit in baking dish.
3. Mix the rest of the topping ingredients together and sprinkle on top of fruit.
4. Bake for about 40 minutes until top is golden brown and fruit is bubbling and tender.

This plum crisp is also great over a bowl of plain Greek yogurt for breakfast.
