Whole Grain Sampling Day Giveaway

Happy Whole Grain Sampling Day (tomorrow- 4/1)! According to a 2014 survey by the International Food Information Council, 72% of consumers are seeking more whole grains. Yay! This is one of the biggest food tips that I recommend to people. Whole grains contain fiber and more vitamins than refined grains. Choose whole grains such as whole wheat pasta, cereals, bread, crackers, etc. In honor of this food day, I have some whole grain cereals that I recently tried to share with you!

Good Life Granola
1. Good Life Granola- I found Good Life Granola in Cooking Light magazine and was immediately intrigued because it said that the granola was made in Michigan. I looked up their website and found that it is made in Holland, MI. This is so awesome because that is where my husband used to work when we lived in West Michigan and where we did all of our shopping. I love trying local products!

I was sent 4 granolas: apple crisp, nut-free, original and cranberry cherry. My favorite is the apple crisp which is very tasty. What I like is that only real ingredients are used such as oats, apples, almonds and maple syrup.

2. Whole Grain Cereals- I was sent a few cereals to try including Peace Vanilla Almond cereal, Uncle Sam raisin bran and Erewhon corn flakes. They are all made with non-GMO ingredients. They are better for you choices than your typical cereal brands and taste good as well. The vanilla almond is especially good on top of yogurt. The corn flakes could be used for a homemade cereal bar. My husband's favorite cereal is raisin bran and this version is rich in fiber making it a better option.

Barbara's Better Granola
3. Barbara's Better Granola- I am a fan of Barbara's products and was sent their new Better Granola to try. It is really good! I liked the dark chocolate cranberry flavor which is full of dried cranberries and shavings of dark chocolate. It contains oat clusters, puffs, quinoa, flax and almonds. One serving has 9-10 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber. A 2/3 cup serving is 210 calories which is lower than most granolas. This granola had a milder flavor in my opinion but was still tasty.

Again, happy Whole Grain Sampling Day (4/1) and enjoy your whole grains!
