It's a........ + Pregnancy Update

I am about halfway along with this pregnancy and thought that I would share an update. Fortunately, it is going to be very boring. Overall, I feel really good so I do not have much to say.

How far along am I? 21 weeks this past Monday

Maternity clothes? Yes! I have been wearing maternity pants since about 10 weeks and wear a mix of regular longer tops and maternity tops.

Sleep- Still good! In the first trimester, I was getting up once a night to use the bathroom but now, I am not. I do toss and turn some nights and get up most days at 5:30 which is annoying!

Symptoms- I get more tired than usual. When I bend over, I get dizzy so I try to avoid it. Not many symptoms going on at the moment- thank god!

19 Weeks
Food cravings- So many! Sour skittles, Rueben sandwiches, sour banana pepper rings, pizza, scrambled eggs, love going out to eat, sauerkraut, etc. I never had cravings with Adalyn so this is pretty crazy for me. I don't have any aversions which is great!

Belly button- My belly button popped out at 18 weeks. I expected this as it popped out last time at 19 weeks.

Weight gain- I am writing this post at 19 weeks and am up about 12 lbs. At first, I was gaining weight really quickly (like 7 lbs at once) and was a little worried but my amazing doctor reassured me about it and I feel so much better. As long as I eat fairly healthy and exercise, I know that my body will gain exactly what it needs to to grow the perfect baby.

18 Weeks
Exercise- I have been exercising more than when I am not pregnant. I found these awesome prenatal workouts on YouTube and do them about twice a week and feel amazing when I do. I have a hard time convincing myself to do anything besides walking (pregnancy or not) so I am so excited that I am doing some strength training.

I remember how hard labor is and I want to prepare for it the best that I can. Also, when you have a newborn, you rock them a lot, bend over to change them, lean over a bit for breastfeeding, etc. and a strong body is so so important. I am trying to remind myself of that when I feel lazy.

Movement- I started feeling the baby move at around 17 weeks. I feel kicks everyday and it is amazing. Troy got to feel the baby move at 18 weeks and he is so, so excited. I honestly think that he is more excited this time around because he knows what is to come: an amazing baby that changes our lives!

Oh yeah, and a big reason that you are probably reading this post: to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I have been so excited to find out the sex of the baby, I can hardly stand it. We do not care what we are having at all. The whole family (except for Adalyn and my sister's boyfriend) thinks that it is a boy. I have just had the strongest feeling about it and have felt so different this pregnancy than with Adalyn so I have felt like that the whole time.

So without further adieu, we are having a................

BOY!!

  5. Congratulations Amanda, Troy and Adalyn on your new little blessing! God is so good! He wants to give us the desires of our heart. Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give the the desires of thine heart. Enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday!
