Oliver Richard: 1 Month Update

With Adalyn, I missed her one month update due to the newborn craziness so I was determined not to miss Oliver's! I even scheduled it in my phone so I would not forget! This month has gone by quickly but at the same time, it seems like Oliver has been in our lives for forever. This is what has been going on the last month.

Clothing size: Oliver is bigger than big sister Adalyn and wears some newborn clothes but also a lot of 0-3 month clothing.

Diapers: Newborn size

Weight: 9 lbs 11 oz (50%)- I just can't believe it!! It took Adalyn two months to get to that weight. This dude knows how to eat!

Height: 22 inches (75%)

Head measurement: 14 1/2 inches (25%)

Feedings: Oliver is exclusively breastfed and is doing so well! I feed him every 2 1/2-3 hours or so during the day. Troy feeds him a pumped bottle at around midnight and I feed him somewhere between 3-4:30 AM. This is going so well and only feeding him one time in the night is helping to save my sanity. Amanda with sleep deprivation is a scary sight!

Nicknames: Mr. Handsome, Little Sweetie, Olivie (coined by Adalyn), Froggy

Sleep: Oliver is so much sleepier than I ever remember with Adalyn! He sleeps much of the day right now (but is waking up more and more each day). He is fussy in the evenings now quite often but NOTHING like it was with our screamer Adalyn. Having Adalyn definitely prepared us for Oliver who so far, is a much more chill baby. *knock on the wood*. He wakes up at midnight and 3-4:30 AM to eat.
Milestones/Tidbits:
-At 2 weeks and 5 days old, Oliver rolled over for the first time. He also rolled over at 3 weeks old.

-We had a huge scare with Oliver which we are so thankful worked out. He failed his hearing test twice in the hospital and we were terrified that he was deaf. We got it rechecked two weeks later and he passed with flying colors. No hearing issues! We were super worried over the two weeks and feel so relieved.

-Adalyn is the BEST big sister and gives Oliver a million kisses and hugs every day, puts his pacifier in his mouth, throws out dirty diapers, tells him that he is so cute and all the things that they can do together when he is bigger! This makes me so happy. She loves having a brother.

-We have been doing a ton of things outside of the house. Some places we have been: a fish fry at 5 days old, the zoo at 8 days old (and again a couple of weeks later), ALDI a few times, the mall, many walks, several restaurants, church, an Easter egg hunt, etc. With a second kid, it just seems easier getting out of the house and Adalyn and I love to do a bunch of things so this is working out well.

Likes: Eating, his Halo swaddles, Wubbanub pacifiers, being held, his big sister Adalyn, being worn in the carrier, walks.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!
<3 nbsp="" p="">Dislikes: Diaper changes, getting out of the bath, being hungry, when the pacifier comes out of his mouth.

I love being a mom of two kids! It is going really well. I am so thankful to have two healthy and happy (mostly...) kids.

  1. He's absolutely adorable. Glad to hear things are going well and that he passed his hearing test.
