Castaway Bay Water Park: Tips for Your Stay + A Giveaway

We recently had the chance to stay at Castaway Bay Waterpark and Hotel and had a great time! We went on a Sunday-Monday which was a so much calmer than our experience going on a Saturday night. If you have the opportunity to travel to Castaway Bay on a Sunday, I highly recommend it. The park is less busy and the restaurant had no wait which was super helpful with young kids.

**Keep reading for a giveaway for 4 Castaway Bay day passes!

We traveled with my daughter who is almost 3 ½ and my son who is 10 months old. It was super fun with my daughter being older than the last time we went when she was 17 months old. I experienced the joy through her eyes and we had a magical time.

The waterpark has attractions for babies through adults which makes it fun for everyone. We love the large wave pool, toddler area with smaller slides and the hot tub the most. Adalyn wanted to spend 90% of her time in the hot tub which goes indoors and outdoors. It was awesome getting to be in the warm water outside when it was 35 degrees.

Our room was nice and close to the waterpark and we made our way there three times the first day. Oliver had a blast splashing around in the fountains which was adorable to see. We had dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube which is conveniently attached to the hotel. I ordered one of their chicken salads, Troy got a bacon cheeseburger and Adalyn had a grilled cheese with fries. We all shared and enjoyed our meals.

Tips for Visiting Castaway Bay

-They have plenty of life jackets so no need to bring your own.
-Ask for an early check-in if you need it. We were able to get in 3 hours early and put Oliver down for a nap which was so helpful.

-Bring 2 swimsuits so that you always have a dry one to put on.
-Bring your own breakfast if you don’t want to go to the buffet. We had oatmeal in our room which has a fridge and microwave.

-Don’t forget the wine! Haha. With long days with the kids and a skipped nap for our toddler, a glass of wine sounded perfect at the end of the day.
-No need for fancy clothes! As much as I love to dress-up, we stayed in pajamas, swimsuits or cozy clothes the whole time.
-Don’t miss the karaoke and dance party! My daughter had a blast dancing all around and singing some of her favorite songs.
-The ice cream is delicious and affordable! We remembered from last time that the ice cream was only $2.50 for a good sized scoop which made a fun afternoon treat.

-If you want to do something besides hangout at the water park, you can go to the activities center and color these shirts. Troy and I especially had a blast doing this!
-If you like to work out, they have an exercise room. I made my way up there for a quick workout in the morning.
-If you can afford it, book a suite for a family. We had a suite last time and this time, we just had a regular room which was difficult with our daughter who cannot fall asleep if she is by anyone else.

-Bundle up and hang out on the screened in porch. When we were trying to put the kids down for a nap, Troy and I put on our jackets and hung out on the screened in porch. It is a beautiful view of the water there and the sun was shining! It made us so excited for spring and summer.
-Though check-in is not until 4, you can visit the park all day and use their locker room to change. The staff was very efficient about check-in and they text you when your room is ready.

We had an awesome time at Castaway Bay and will definitely return again. There is not a chance that a kid wouldn’t have an awesome time. My daughter was sad to leave but we promised that we will be back at some point!
