Make Your Own Rum and Coke Bar is perfect for entertaining and is very simple to put together with Rum, Coke, lime, lemons, orange slices, cherries and vanilla ice cream!

Summer is coming and I'm dreaming of outdoor entertaining, outdoor concerts, evening bonfires, swimming and more. While we certainly do entertain during the colder months, it seems like once summer rolls around, we are entertaining more than ever. What I really love about entertaining in the summer is the simplicity of it. You don't need a 4-course meal to entertain. Throw some burgers and chicken on the grill with some of summer's freshest vegetables and you have yourself an awesome meal for entertaining.

I created this super simple Rum and Coke bar to share with you for summer entertaining. You can certainly add more ingredients but I kept it on the simple side with Bacardi Superior rum, Coca-Cola® Mini Cans, citrus fruit, cherries, ice and ice cream for making a float. That way, your guests can add to their drink whatever they like best and it makes for a really fun drink station.

Along with this Rum and Coke bar, here are some of my summer entertaining tips:

Take the party outside

I live in Michigan where it is often cold so any chance that we get to go outside, I take it. Plus, it is super easy to set outdoor furniture out and be good to go!

Have an appetizer party

Each summer, we have a big bonfire at our house with friends and family and have each person bring an appetizer to share. I think that this helps you have the most delicious food possible because everyone brings their own specialty appetizer.

Have plenty of bug spray

Nothing will ruin a party like having mosquitoes biting you! We like having tiki torches lit for light and to help keep the bugs away.

Setup an awesome playlist

We usually use our favorite music app for a party and setup speakers outside. Play into what your party guests like. If my in-laws are there, we will NOT be playing my beloved country. If my parents are there, they would request 80's music. Play whatever your guests will enjoy the most.

-Coca-Cola® Mini Cans - perfect smaller portion for making a mixed drink

-Sliced lemons, limes and oranges

-Lots of ice

-Vanilla ice cream - for those who want a float

-Maraschino cherries or regular cherries - frozen work well

Rum and Coke is such a popular drink and I know that my husband enjoys drinking this as well as other members in our family so I knew that this would be a great make-your-own bar for a party. Bacardi Superior Rum has flavors of vanilla and apricot and mixes really well into whatever beverage you want. It made the perfect add-in to this drink.
