Build-Your Own Smoothie Bowl Bar has tons of smoothie ingredient options as well as fun toppings for the smoothie bowls! A fun party idea where everyone can customize their own smoothie bowl.
Build-Your-Own Smoothie Bowl Bar
You guys know that I love creating bars of any kind (I have waffle bars, chili bars, yogurt parfait bars, veggie burger bars, etc.). It was totally time to create a build-your-own smoothie bowl bar! I love making smoothies and smoothie bowls and think that it's fun to have a variety of ingredients to make the smoothies and different toppings. My kids had a lot of fun with these! I think that this smoothie bowl bar would be perfect for a party or a brunch. Featured in this post are mango smoothie bowls, banana spinach smoothie bowls and blackberry pie smoothie bowls.

Smoothie ingredient options are truly endless. If you love certain fruit or liquids for your smoothies, put out whatever ingredients you would like. I just listed a bunch of ingredients that I love using for smoothies but would not typically have every single item at once. Use what you have on hand or what your family and guests would love.

Smoothie Bar Ideas

Must-haves for the actual smoothie is fruit and some kind of liquid for sure. I like to make my smoothies more filling by adding protein powder or peanut butter powder. Sometimes, I enjoy adding chia seeds or flax for omega-3 fatty acids and I typically add baby spinach as well for a boost of vitamins and minerals.

Smoothie Bowl Bar

I made three smoothie bowls for this recipe: a mango smoothie bowl, a banana green smoothie bowl and a blackberry pie smoothie bowl. I kept the ingredients super simple with blackberries/milk/protein powder, banana/protein powder/baby spinach/milk and mango/protein powder/Greek yogurt. My kids and I loved them all!

Smoothie Bar Ideas for Party

A smoothie bar would be so fun to have at a party! When it comes to smoothie bowl toppings, feel free to go nuts! The sky is the limit. I kept these topping ideas on the healthy side but if you want to make them dessert-like, that is okay too. You could add chocolate chips, whipped cream and even sprinkles.

Smoothie Bowl Topping Ingredients

-Chia seeds
-Chopped Betty Lou's Fruit Bars
-Granola
-Cereal
-Fruit
-Coconut
-Nut butter

Toppings can make the smoothie bowl! I love chia seeds for nutrition. Fruit is fun for added sweetness. Nut butter is awesome for any berry or banana kinds of smoothies, especially if you make them thick. Pro tip: I recommend making your smoothie for your smoothie bowl thicker than normal so that the toppings don't sink to the bottom. The consistency of soft serve ice cream works best.

I love texture in my smoothies and have been loving throwing on a handful of crunchy cereal or chopped up Betty Lou's Fruit Bars. These come in a variety of flavors and can be found right at Walmart.
