May 2019 Product Review Favorites + Fruit Bliss Giveaway

A review of Sitka Salmon Shares, Fruit Bliss dried fruit and FitSnack box! Plus, a giveaway from Fruit Bliss!
We had so much fun during lent cooking with salmon and cod from Sitka Salmon Shares. One Friday night, I made a make-your-own-salad-bar for dinner for the family and Troy grilled this salmon. It was so delicious and the very best part: both kids absolutely loved it! My 2 year old chowed all of his salmon plus asked for seconds and thirds even! Troy used a mixture of a little bit of everything and apparently, it was awesome- brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder and I believe some soy sauce.

All of the salmon and other fish from Sitka Salmon Shares is super high quality and comes frozen so when you defrost it, it is super fresh. We also made fish tacos with the cod. I did a dry rub and filled toasted corn tortillas with cod, red cabbage and a homemade chipotle lime sauce. I would definitely recommend ordering from this company for high-quality fish!

Fruit Bliss Dried Fruit

Fruit Bliss Dried Fruit

My whole life, I have been the biggest fan of dried fruit. I love sweet foods and I love fruit and drying the fruit really brings out the natural sweetness. Fruit Bliss makes dried fruit that is juicier than your typical dried fruit because after it is sun dried, it is rehydrated with water to make it softer and juicier. A couple of my favorite dried fruits are dried cherries and dried apricots and these from Fruit Bliss are great! Unlike many other dried fruits, they do not have any added sugar which I love.

My kids feel like they are having a treat eating them and I feel good about giving them as a snack. I also am liking the fruit and nut bites which are a little more filling thanks to the protein and healthy fats from the nuts.

FitSnack Box

-I freaked out when I saw the Luke's Organic kettle chips in ketchup, mustard and pickle flavor! Ketchup chips are my favorite and this variety sounded amazing. I opened them up right away and loved the combination of hamburger topping flavors. I need to check out more chips from this brand!
-The Paleo Puffs make for a fun salty snack and I also loved the Oh Oh Cookie Dough Bar.
-My kids enjoyed snacking on the Honey Nutters.

  5. Many of your recipes use whole wheat flour. I am gluten free is there a gluten free flour I could use as a substitute and do you know how much in comparison to the whole wheat would I need?

    1. It would still be the same amount for a gluten-free flour. For gluten-free flours, the ones that I have tried and liked are these Jovial Foods ones: https://jovialfoods.com/product-category/gluten-free/gluten-free-flours/
