Favorite Snacks for Toddlers

Favorite healthy, easy snacks for toddlers that are totally kid and mom approved!

My kids have always loved snacking! As a mom and dietitian, I prefer for them to typically have nutritious snacks that have some kind of benefit like protein, fiber, vitamins or minerals. Though we do have treats on occasion as well. I want to share some of my toddler's favorite snacks and what we pack for days out and about.

Favorite Snacks for Toddlers

Fruit

My kids have always loved fruit and that is my typical go-to if we just need one light snack. They love sliced apples, peaches, blueberries, grapes, clementines, pears, etc. Anything really! I also like fruit pouches with no-added sugar.


Bars

Oliver has always been my bar lover and that is his very favorite snack. He goes crazy for them! He has been loving the Beech-Nut® Naturals Fruity Oat Bars. They have no-added sugar which is my favorite feature about them and come in banana and strawberry flavors. The ingredient list is super simple with just oats, raisins, dates, sunflower oil and dried strawberry. Oliver is 2 right now and loves these but I would give them to a younger toddler as well. They are made with real food for babies which this mom loves!


They are great to take with us on-the-go and travel well in my diaper bag or purse. Oliver likes both flavors and they make a fun snack for him. We also like the Beech-Nut® Naturals fruits and veggies for babies and when Lily is old enough, we will give her some of these. They are made with real fruits and veggies and never anything artificial. They are gently cooked with indirect heat to preserve the color, flavor and nutrients.

Cheese

My kids love snacking on cheese slices and string cheese. It is a good source of calcium and protein.

Veggies and dip

My kids will go crazy for crunchy raw veggies if I give them a little dip to go along with it. A healthier hack is to take plain Greek yogurt and mix it with ranch dip mix. It tastes the same as regular ranch but has the benefits of the Greek yogurt.

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

Muffins

My kids go crazy for homemade baked goods and love muffins made with bananas because they have natural sweetness.

3-ingredient strawberry apple yogurt popsicles

Homemade frozen treats

We make a ton of "healthy ice cream" as my kids call it with frozen fruit, Greek yogurt and a splash of milk. We also make a lot of popsicles like these Strawberry Greek Yogurt Popsicles.


Sure, at times we have stuff like crackers or other treats but these are some of our favorite go-to snacks that my kids absolutely love.
