Grilled Hawaiian Pork

Grilled Hawaiian Pork features grilled pork marinated in a pineapple soy marinade with fresh pineapple, bell peppers and red onion!

Grilled Hawaiian Pork

When the weather warms up, we try to fire up the grill as much as possible. This Grilled Hawaiian Pork is the perfect summer meal with marinated grilled pork, pineapple, bell peppers and red onions. My family loves this meal and it's super easy to make. At first, I was planning on making kebabs and I thought, too much work, I wanted the same result without having to thread everything on a stick and it worked perfectly. You're going to love this easy grilled pork and veggies dinner!

My kids loved this meal so much that they actually had it for a snack the night we had it. They pulled it out and ate it cold. I guess that means I need to make it again soon!

How to Make Grilled Hawaiian Pork

This meal is super easy! If you have extra time, mix together your ingredients for the Hawaiian marinade and let it marinate on the pork and veggies for a few hours. If you don't have extra time, it will still taste delicious. Toss your pork and veggies with the marinade and grill on medium high heat until the pork is cooked through to 145 degrees and your veggies and pineapple are lightly charred. Slice pork to serve.

Pork Nutrition

Why did I choose pork for this recipe? I knew that it would be delicious with the pineapple, veggies and marinade and lean pork is a great meal option. Lean pork tenderloin for example is as lean as boneless, skinless chicken breast. Pork is packed with nutrients such as protein, niacin, thiamin, vitamin B6, zinc, riboflavin and more.

A 3-ounce serving of pork has 22 grams of protein. I always say it but I am not the best at eating protein and often choose things like bread or fruit. I've been trying to incorporate more protein into my diet as I workout a lot and know that I need the protein. I have noticed on days that I eat lean pork with my lunch or dinner, I feel full for so much longer than if I don't include a high-protein food. Lean pork can be a great meal choice and is super delicious!

I partnered with my friends at Michigan Pork to share this delicious recipe. Last fall, I went on a tour of a Michigan farm and learned all about pig farming which was super interesting! We made a super delicious pork rub that I've been using all year. Learn more about pork nutrition here.

Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook time: 10 minutes Total time: 30 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 pounds pork loin, trimmed and cut into 3/4-inch slices like pork chops
  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or any oil)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar (or any vinegar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 cups pineapple, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 green bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 cup red onion, cut into 1 inch pieces

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, garlic powder, pineapple juice, olive oil, honey, rice vinegar and ginger. Save 3 tablespoons of marinade for later.
  2. Toss the veggies, pineapple and pork with the marinade. Marinate overnight if possible or at least for an hour.
  3. Fire up the grill to medium-high and cook the pork for about 4-5 minutes per side (flip with grill tongs) until you see grill marks on the pork and it reaches and internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F. Cook the veggies either in a grill pan, on a grill mat or in aluminum foil until the veggies have grill marks and are softened- about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from the grill, slice the pork and pour the extra marinade over the pork and veggies.

Enjoy!
