8 Easy Health Tips for Anyone

8 health tips that can be done in just 15 minutes or less to help you live a healthy lifestyle!

Life is busy and I know that you don't have loads of time to focus on health, which is why I want to share some little health tips that really do add up over time leading to a healthy lifestyle. These 8 Easy Health Tips for Anyone take 15 minutes or less and can be incorporated into your day to help you feel your best. I am a busy mom of 3 who works, my kids are in lots of activities and we are always on the go and I personally use these tips to help live my best, healthiest life.

1. Add fiber to most meals

Fiber is so important for digestion and for helping you feel full. Men need about 38 grams per day and women need about 25 grams per day. I recommend aiming to have fiber in each meal. Fiber can be found in fruits and veggies, whole-grains, beans and nuts. You can add berries and nuts to your breakfast, beans to your lunch and a salad with your dinner to meet your fiber goals.

2. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds

It's a major myth that a quick wash of your hands is enough. In order to truly get your hands clean, they need to be washed with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. I love reading Bradley's Healthy Handwashing Survey each year because it gives me a good insight into what people are doing in regards to handwashing. The 2026 Healthy Handwashing Survey™ asked more than 1,000 U.S. adults about their handwashing habits and uncovered some interesting findings:

The 2026 Healthy Handwashing Survey™ asked people their handwashing habits and had some interesting results:

-76% say that they always wash their hands after using a public restroom- top reasons for not washing hands- no soap, paper towels, too many people or the sinks were unclean or broken.

-20% skip washing their hands after using a public restroom if they think no one is around.

-57% will skip drinking liquids before they leave home so they won't have to use a public bathroom.

3. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

Hydration is so important for feeling your best. When you are even a little dehydrated, you can feel tired, moody or even have a headache. Drink water all day long to stay hydrated. If needed, add electrolytes or other low sugar flavor to your water to help encourage you to drink more water.

4. Take the extra steps

It's so easy to take the closest parking, take the elevator, skip the 5 minute walk to a store when you can just drive but little bits of exercise here and there really add up. When you can, park a little further, take the stairs instead of the elevator and walk to nearby errands instead of driving to them.

5. Add strength training into your routine

Over the last couple of years, I have really increased my strength training and feel stronger than I have ever been. Strength training is so important to maintain (and build!) muscle mass, especially as we age. I aim for at least 2 times per week.

6. Get plenty of protein

I almost don't want to mention protein in this post because we all know that protein is such a hot topic. Most people in the U.S. are getting plenty of protein but especially as we workout, we need protein to refuel, help build muscle mass and to help us feel full. When we eat a meal mostly full of carbohydrates, we will feel hungry way sooner than if we have a balanced meal with plenty of protein. Aim for a good mix of protein, healthy fats, carbs and fiber sources.

7. Go outside as often as you can

When I'm feeling a little down or not my best, a little outside time is sure to cheer me up! Getting some fresh air feels amazing and can help you perk up. Whether that's walking, having a picnic outside, or just drinking a cup of coffee on the porch, outside time helps boost your mood.

8. Get to bed

I think it's nearly impossible to feel your best if you don't sleep well. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep per night.
