How to Beat Diet Boredom

Eating healthy is a priority to me. There are so many different healthy choices out there but sometimes, I can get bored with the foods that I eat. To beat diet boredom, I make sure to switch up what I am eating often and choose a variety of dishes.

Here are my top tips to beat diet boredom:
Pinterest
-Pinterest- Pinterest gives you so many different fun and creative ideas for healthy recipes. If you want to look up a recipe using chicken and broccoli for example, it is easy to do so on Pinterest and tons of options will come up.

Concord Grapes
-Eat a variety of produce- It is easy to purchase the same foods every week at the grocery store. Instead, each week, try a new fruit or vegetable that you have not tried before or one that you do not eat very often. Great choices include swiss chard, beets, concord grapes and different squashes. These foods are packed with nutrients and are a great option to avoid being bored.

-Switch up your meals- To avoid becoming bored with your meals, try a new recipe once per week at least. This way, you get to have something new without having the same spaghetti each week.

Spices
-Add spices- The simplest way to make a traditional dish seem different is by adding different spices. For example, on chicken, you can have a homemade spice rub, lemon and garlic or a peanut Thai sauce. All of these options are different from each other and have a different flavor so that you do not get bored.

-Vary your lunches- I feel like people are creatures of habit with lunch. I have heard of people eating the same peanut butter and jelly sandwich everyday for lunch for years. Instead, focus on having a few different options throughout the week. Favorites of mine include a salad with all different toppings, macaroni and cheese with vegetables baked in, soup such as Progresso light or leftovers from the night before. Progresso soup comes in tons of different varieties (40 in fact!) so you have options and will not get bored.

I was recently sent a couple of Progresso soups to try out. As a brand new mom, I see how time is precious and how I often am scrambling around lunchtime. I do not have time right now to make meals homemade so quick meals like this are essential.

Progresso Light

I was sent the light creamy chicken alfredo to try out. It contains pasta, chicken and a light alfredo sauce. This soup was very tasty and I enjoyed it with a salad on the side. I was also sent the light beef barley vegetable soup to try. This is one of Progressos new soups. My dad loves to make this kind of soup and for a canned variety this one was pretty good. As with any packaged product, you do have to watch the amount of sodium you eat. I would pair this with a low sodium option such as fresh veggies and fruit.

Progresso also has a contest going on called ProgressOH where you can win a wardrobe makeover.
