Wicked Halloween Run

Troy and I were recently provided free admission into the Wicked Halloween Run from the Kona Running Company in order to blog about it. All opinions are my own.

Sunday October 27th, Troy and I participated in a great event called the Wicked Halloween Run. It took place in Plymouth, MI which I had never been to before. It was in a cute little downtown area.

When we arrived, there were thousands of runners everywhere which was awesome. There was a huge set-up including a warming tent, food tent and little tents that you could get your prizes from, etc.

Since it was almost Halloween, tons of people were dressed in costume- next year! You could choose to run the 5k or 10k event. Troy and I did the 5k.

The event was pretty well run and we went to register first in the gym. One of the things that was really unique about this run is that it came with a nice long sleeved tech shirt (the one Troy is wearing). Most of the times, races just come with a simple white t-shirt.

If you ran the 10k, you got one of these awesome, huge halloween medals.

Love the big blow up finish line. Lots of people came out to support their loved ones.

For me, it was not my best race but I had fun. I did place first in my age group with a time of 21:53. I did not feel well during the race which lowered my confidence in myself but oh well- just need to work harder next time!

Troy placed third in his age group even after not running for 1 1/2 months!

The prize for placing in your age group was these super cute Wicked Halloween Run mugs. I love the non-traditional prize.

The place was decorated so cute for Halloween. Haha love this Monsters Inc. display.

After the race, we got bananas, bagels from Panera, water and granola bars.

Thanks so much to the Kona Running Company for putting on a great event.

If you are a runner in the Metro Detroit area, the Kona Running Company has another race coming up November 17th called the Kona Chocolate Run. Yes, after the race you get hot chocolate and other chocolate treats. I will be there and feel free to check it out if you live nearby.
