Local Shopping and Rickshaw Bags

As I have written in reviews in the past, it is important to me to buy things local. I do not buy everything this way but when I see that a product is made in the US versus another country, I prefer the US version. The same goes for locally made products in Michigan. I think that it is very important to support your local economy and help out those around you.

A way that that I purchase local is by going to my local farmer’s market called Eastern Market. It is located in downtown Detroit and is composed of a few very large buildings filled with produce vendors. These vendors come and set up their goods every Tuesday and Saturday and sell to local Michigan customers.

Going here is honestly one of my favorite things to do. I have gone with my mom and with my friend Jessica. The produce is very affordable and always looks very fresh. They also sell different items like honey, bread, pickles, nut butters, meats, eggs and more. It is so neat to be able to eat a lot of foods locally grown in Michigan and the US.

Rickshaw Bagworks is a company that sells all different types of bags. They are located in San Francisco and their products are made here in the United States. Compared to other companies, it is neat that their products are made in the US so that we can help keep things local and support our own economy.

Rickshaw products include messenger bags, laptop bags, iPad bags, tote bags and more. These bags are made out of recycled water bottles which is so neat. Not only are you buying local when you purchase these bags but you are also helping to save the environment by using a recycled product. The company uses sustainable manufacturing. In thisarticle, we can see that they are a small company that pays their workers well and have an interesting way of running their business.

I always carry a ton of stuff around with me so I know the importance of carrying a good bag. These bags would be great for all kinds of people, especially those on the go. If you carry your important electronics to work with you or to other places, these bags will be very beneficial.

What is really neat about this brand is how many of the products are customizable. You can choose colors, patterns, etc. It is seriously impressive how many different choices that you have. You can DIY all of the bags and sleeves.

The bags come in different sizes depending on your needs. You can choose the exterior color of the bag and have about 30 different color choices. There are four different materials available as well. One of the materials is waterproof if you are looking for a waterproof bag. There are colors that I think everyone would like since there is such a huge variety.

You can also choose the binding color. I was playing around with the different details on the site and like a black bag with hot pink binding. The black is professional and sophisticated while the hot pink is fun and cute. Finally, you can also choose the color of the label. I love that you can mix and match with different colors which is really fun.
