What Makes You Great?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Post Great Grains Cereal for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have always enjoyed Great Grains cereal. When I was growing up, I was not one of those kids who wanted the sugary kids cereals but loved cereals like granola or those with nuts and fruit in them. I remember my parents buying Great Grains cereal and enjoying it.

Did you know that there are 8 different varieties of Great Grains?
- Great Grains Digestive Blend Berry Medley
- Great Grains Digestive Blend Vanilla Graham
- Great Grains Protein Blend Honey, Oats & Seeds
- Great Grains Protein Blend Cinnamon Crunch
- Great Grains Cranberry Almond Crunch
- Great Grains Crunchy Pecans
- Great Grains Raisins, Dates & Pecans
- Great Grains Banana Nut Crunch

I knew that there were a few varieties but had no idea that there were so many! My favorite is the banana nut crunch which has been around for a long time. The Protein Blend Cinnamon Crunch sounds really great as well. What is neat about this cereal is that it incorporates whole grain flakes made from wheat berries as well as dried fruit and nuts. Instead of grinding the whole grains into flour, the grains are cracked and steamed and uses the whole grain.
Great Grains
I am a pretty shy person when it comes to complimenting myself but for this campaign, I was to focus on what makes me great. It is kind of a funny thing to think of because as people, we often focus on the negatives. Here are a few of the things that I like about myself. I am a hard worker. I feel like I am helping people in my profession as a registered dietitian. I can accomplish a lot in a short period of time. I care a lot about my family and dogs. It is nice to take a moment to focus on the positives about yourself!

A recent survey took place called What Makes You Great Women's Surve and a couple of the results were very interesting:
-In the survey, 93% of women feel that they have improved some aspects about themselves in the last 10 years- improvement is always great!

-Some of the most important relationship and support can come from a mother-daughter relationship. 33% of women feel that the most important lesson that they can teach their daughters is "don't let a man dictate your decisions", 26% say "speak up for yourself" and 22% say "take pride in your accomplishments". I liked learning this as a mom-to-be expecting a baby girl in 5 weeks.

  1. I always opted for cereal that I like to refer to as tasting like 'cardboard' because I did! Some kids like the sugary cereals (my sister included) but I couldn't get enough of the plain tasting, fiber rich stuff :)

My determination and strength make me great!
