Adalyn Teething Update

Wow, when people told me that teething would be tough, I had no idea how tough. As I write this post, we are going on about 2 weeks of very poor sleep. Last night was the worse night of sleep since Adalyn has been born. The poor girl was literally up every single hour screaming her little head off.
Troy and I tried rocking her, lightly swaddling, feeding her, bringing her in bed with us and nothing was working. It was crazy! I didn't know what to do. I think that it was mostly related to teething. It also may be due to the fact that she recently started crawling and can now move all around her crib and doesn't know how to settle down. It made for a very long night and then it was super hard to be at work and be totally focused.
Since Adalyn only has 2 teeth, I know we are in for a lot more long nights of teething. I had planned on trying Orajel™ Kids for Adalyn to see if that helped with some of her teething pain. We were sent some different products to try out and I think that they will be very beneficial to her.
We tried out the babby Orajel naturals nighttime teething gel. It is safe for baby and provides pain relief. It also contains chamomile to help baby sleep more comfortably. So far, it does seem to be helping with some of the teething pain. Adalyn didn't seem to mind me putting it on which is great. I am praying for more sleep soon!
Other things that seem to help the teething- anything to chew on including cold teething rings, towels, my finger (haha) and more. It is a work in process and we are learning different ways to be able to help Adalyn deal with teething.

I knew that Orajel Kids had teething products but didn't know that they had products for learning to brush your child's teeth or for when they brush on their own. They have a couple of fluoride-free toothpastes that will be beneficial as well as more teeth come in.
Also, Orajel Kids has a sweepstakes going on right now called the Orajel Smilestones Birthday Photo Sweepstakes. One winner will receive an Orajel Kids product gift back and a $2,000 gift card to use on a big birthday party!! With $2,000, I can think of many ideas to be able to throw a great first birthday party for Adalyn in September.
