Adalyn 11 Month Update

11 months- that means only 1 more month until 1 year old. OMG. Where does the time go? Adalyn learned so much this month and had so many changes, AKA we haven't been sleeping. Summer has been the best and I am sad it is almost over. Although, fall will be very fun too. Also, this post could alternatively be called "I can't help but post a zillion pictures of my kid".

Here are some of the fun things going on this month:

Clothing/diaper size: All 9 and 12 month clothes and size 3 shoes. Finally switched to size 3 diapers.

Weight
: 19.2 lbs- yay! Up 1.4 lbs this month.

Feedings: Adalyn is breastfeeding 4 times per day. I plan to continue nursing her past 1 year. When she turns 1, I do plan to stop pumping at work.

Adalyn loves to eat but she has gotten pickier this month. It has been harder to give her vegetables but we keep trying of course. She loves garden fresh cherry tomatoes. Homemade smoothie popsicles are her favorite. She also loves beans, any kind of fruit, pizza, bread, pasta and more.

She no longer wants us to feed her which makes giving her cereal very difficult. It goes something like this: hand Adalyn a spoonful of cereal, watch her wipe 1/2 of it on her face/arms/hair and then put the rest in her mouth. We are now doing other foods for breakfast most of the time. Haha!

She eats everything we eat which is great!

Sleep: Yes, we are back to talking about sleep. Adalyn has been getting up at 5-5:30 for the day a lot of times. This has been going on for at least a month and half and I am exhausted! Sometimes, after I feed her, she will let me put her back down in the last week or so.

Bedtimes have gotten weird as well. Putting her down has gotten harder again and bedtime is anywhere from 7:30-8:30. It has been taking her longer to fall asleep some nights.

She has also been waking up the last several nights from 11:30 PM- 2 AM. She was teething and was in a lot of pain so I fed her to comfort her. I think that she is now waking out of habit so last night when she woke up, Troy checked on her, comforted her and then we let her cry for a few minutes instead of feeding her. She fell back asleep and woke up at 6:15 AM! Yay! Hopefully we are on the upswing.

As far as naps go, the first nap almost always is great and lasts around 2 hours starting around 8 to 10 AM. Adalyn has been fighting the second nap a lot and doesn't usually go down till 3 or 4 PM. It may be time to drop this second nap.

Milestones:
-Right after I wrote Adalyn's 10 month update, she started fully walking!! She can walk all around our living room and then falls on her butt. So cute!

-Her 5th tooth just broke the surface and the 6th one will be popping through any day now.

-Adalyn is talking so much more!! She says Dada, Mama, baba, etc. She seems to be trying to say dog and ball too.

-Adalyn points at everything. She seems to be getting a better understanding of everything around her.

-She has a song- "I Love It" by Icona Pop. The second you put that song on, she stops what she is doing, starts clapping and bouncing up and down. We now discovered that she likes the song "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix A Lot...wow

-Knows the words "clap", "wave bye bye" and "give kisses" and will do all three of those things when asked.

-Pets the dogs everyday and gives them kisses. She also learned how to feed the dogs and is constantly dropping her food for them. They love it!

-Is fearless! She tries to dive head first off the couch. Troy and I are constantly having mini heart attacks.

-Is so cute with strangers. She smiles at them, then hides, then comes out again and smiles.

-Continues to wave bye to me when I leave for work each morning out the window.

-Loves to "get mommy" or "get daddy" and get chased around. She also loves to "scare" us and cracks up every time.

-At the splash pad, she is getting so independent and will walk off on her own instead of just staying by us. She has also been making lots of friends everywhere she goes and will walk right up to kids and start playing.

-Loves swimming and playing in the bath.

-Continues to empty out every single cupboard and drawer we have.

-Continues to be in a mama stage and will cry if someone takes her from me or if I set her down, especially in the morning.

This month has been a blast!! I love my baby girl so much and am so proud to be her mom. This age is so fun.
