Oliver Richard: 2 Month Update

Life is good at two months! We were blessed with the most chill baby that cries so much less than his sister so at this point, I say life with two kids is going pretty darn well. The only time that we really struggle is when Oliver won't stop crying and Adalyn is in meltdown/destruction mode at the same time. Then, I lose my mind a bit! Here is what is going on with Oliver at 2 months old.

Clothing size: 0-3 months and 3 months clothes

Diapers: Newborn size

Weight: 11 lbs 9.5 oz (50%)- Adalyn was only 10 lbs 1.5 oz at her 2 month appointment so this boy is chunking up on mama's milk! Yay!

Height: 23 1/2 inches (75%)

Head measurement: 15 1/4 inches (25%)

Feedings: Oliver is exclusively breastfed and is doing so well! I feed him every 2 1/2-3 hours or so during the day. Troy feeds him a pumped bottle at around 11-midnight and around 6 weeks, he started sleeping until 5:30-6:15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if this will last or not but right now, most nights, I am not feeding him in the night. I am the worst person in the world when I am sleep deprived so this is beyond amazing. Out of the last two weeks, he has only needed to be fed in the night maybe 3 times. Praise god!

Sleep: As I said above, Oliver is a great sleeper. He goes to bed around 8-8:30, gets a pumped bottle at 11-12 and sleeps till 5:30 or 6. I feed him then and he often goes back down for a couple hours.

We very loosely follow Babywise and have him eat, play (on his playmat, being held, in his carseat, whatever) and then go down for a nap. We do this in about 3 hour cycles. Feeding takes ~15 minutes, play for maybe 30-45 minutes and then sleep for 1 1/2-2 hours or so. I do not keep track of the feedings/sleep because that makes me a crazy woman and I am trying to be a relaxed and low-stress mama.

He is fussy some days and we know that it is just a phase, growth spurt or leap (from the Wonder Weeks app). It is awesome being a second time parent knowing that rough times do not last and it helps us to mentally get through it. Overall, Oliver is a really happy baby.

Milestones/Tidbits:
-Oliver had his first and second trips to my parents farm at 6 and 8 weeks old. He did so well! I can't wait for him to enjoy it like Adalyn does when he is a bit older!!

-He has much better head control this month, looks at people a lot more, started smiling- the best!

-Adalyn is still the best, best, best big sister and loves her brother more than anything in the world. I can see that Oliver loves her so much too. He looks at her more than anyone else. She sings to him, gives him his pacifier and calms him down all the time. Her favorite thing to talk about is "when baby Oliver gets bigger, we will....drink orange juice, eat popsicles, he will have big hands, we will play chase, etc. etc." So cute!

-We are still doing lots of things outside of the house in true Amanda fashion! We are loving the zoo, restaurants, local play places, family events, parks, the beach and more!

<3 nbsp="" p="">Likes: Eating, his Halo swaddles, Wubbanub pacifiers, being held, his big sister Adalyn, being worn in the carrier, walks.

<3 nbsp="" p="">Dislikes: Diaper changes, being hungry, when the pacifier comes out of his mouth.

Life is good! I love being a mama to my two awesome kids.
