Third Baby Gender Reveal + Halfway Pregnancy Update

Since I know the most exciting part of this post is the gender, I will share that right away. Click over to see what Baby #3 is!

It's a girl!!!!

Adalyn is totally excited. Oliver doesn't get it. Troy and I are over the moon. We found out by having the ultrasound tech go in the hall and whisper the answer to Adalyn. She then came in the room and announced it to us. It was an incredible moment that we will never forget. The joy in her face getting to share the news with us is just too great. She kept the secret from family for 3 days which is pretty great for a 4 year old. We had a gender reveal party on Saturday where we had a bottle that burst open with pink confetti.

We don't have any names picked out yet but have a few in mind that we are thinking about- they need to grow on me first. I'm sure we will decide soon because I'm a Type A planner all the way.

I come from a family of girl, boy, girl so it's pretty crazy that that's what my family will look like too. I have been insanely prepping for baby girl because that's just who I am. I went through about 20 huge garbage bags full of girl and boy clothes the day after we found out the sex and took out everything we can use for the baby. I separated everything by sizes and donated a ton that I never liked, threw some away with stains and did a deep soak washing treatment with Oxiclean on a few huge loads to try to get out some stuck on stains. We have most things we need but of course need to start stocking up on diapers and wipes soon.

I love getting ready for a baby because I love organizing and seeing all of Adalyn's old clothes again. Some items bring back so many memories and I am excited to have Baby #3 wear Adalyn's unbelievable amount of clothes. You better believe that she's going to be wearing some of Oliver's clothes too. Farm work boots, John Deere clothes and Carhartt is worn by both sexes in my family!

Adalyn is thrilled to have a sister and I can't wait to dress them in matching dresses. Oliver is going to have his hands full with two sisters! Troy says he is excited for girl clothes and princess stuff- he is the best dad. Life is so good and we are super blessed!

Ultrasound Update

Everything looked good at my 19 week ultrasound. There is one issue where the umbilical is slightly in the wrong spot on the placenta and I may nee to get more frequent ultrasounds to ensure that baby is growing as she is supposed to. I meet with my doctor in about 2 weeks and I will ask a million questions then. I was told not to worry and it wasn't a big deal so we will see.

How far along am I?

19 weeks, 2 days (due July 13th)

How am I feeling?

Really good! I feel like my normal self for the most part. I'm not sick and 90% of the day, I forget I'm pregnant. I am sleeping HORRIBLY though which is making me sleep deprived and a little loony. I have been waking up for the day at 3-4 AM and can't get back to sleep. If I take a nap to make up for it, I can't fall asleep at night which is really tough. Hoping I can figure this out soon because I have a long ways to go yet.

Also, I am having a symptom that I never had in either of my two pregnancies. I am having a lot of tailbone pain at certain times like the evening which has driven me to tears at times it has been so bad. 95% of the time, there is no pain but when there is, it is awful. I very much look forward to asking my doctor about this.

I haven't felt the baby move yet at 19 weeks. My belly button popped out at seriously 9 weeks. I guess my body remembered how to do this whole pregnancy thing haha. Weight gain is at 13 lbs- I'm loving all the food and am constantly hungry. I eat way more than my husband.

Food Cravings

After the first trimester, my cravings died down a lot. I have had a couple for sour candy and pickles.

Exercise

I am still running! I run twice a week and recently cut down the mileage a little due to an injury my dad (my running partner) had but we run usually 4-5 miles at a time. I am walking on the other days on the treadmill or outside usually 2 miles, sometimes 3. Overall, it feels good but I typically feel like I have to pee really bad even though I don't which is crazy to me.

I try to spend at least a few minutes lifting weights a few times a week because I know that it is good for me but this is my struggle for sure. I have done my favorite Bodyfit by Amy YouTube workout but not enough- I need to restart this up because I really feel like it prepared me for labor last time. I had a quick 3 hour labor and the quickest recovery. It will be interesting to see how my running affects my pregnancy/delivery.

Overall, things are going really well and we are excited that we are having a girl!

  1. Congrats! I remember some brief conversation we had online when you found out your second was a boy and I said something like but Adalyn has such cute clothes and you said "for future babies." By the way my birthday is July 9th! July is a great month for a birthday. Summer parties are fun.
