5 Health Goals for Summer

These 5 health goals for summer are simple ways to help you feel your best!

I'm not sure if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook but I have shared that we have been going through a lot with my 8 year old daughter. She has been having some health concerns and we aren't sure what is going on with her. She has had a lot of testing and everything is coming back okay but she hasn't been well. Therefore, I have not been taking great care of myself thanks to the stress and how much time doctors appointments, phone calls and just general care of my sick kiddo has been taking. I do not feel my best at all and an making 5 mini health goals for summer for myself to feel my best and get back on track.

5 Health Goals for Summer

1. Get plenty of sleep

When I get stressed, the first thing to go is sleep and that definitely makes me feel my worst. I honestly have been feeling sick when really, a good night's rest helps so much. Aim for 7-8 hours to feel your best.

2. Exercise daily

I've also been slacking on exercise but daily movement helps me feel way better. Even getting out on a walk for 10 minutes makes a huge difference. My son is playing soccer this season and to help him practice, I have been loving to kick the ball around in our yard. For any sport, having a pair of sports or running insoles can help if you need good insoles like I do. We love the ones from Currex. Check out my post all about items to stock up on for the soccer season.

I love the Baleaf activewear for my workouts and walks. I am super excited to be able to kayak, bike and walk a ton this summer.

3. Talk out my feelings

I am someone who cannot hold it in when I am upset. I need to talk to people and it helps so much. Thanks to family and friends for hearing me out these last few weeks. Especially my husband Troy and my mom!

4. Eat well!

I never have a problem eating 3 meals a day and a bunch of snacks unless my stress levels are extremely high such as a family member being very sick. It's an odd feeling to me because I normally would never miss a meal. I have had to put a bunch of effort into making sure that I am eating well the last couple weeks and what has been really helping me is to have nutritious food prepped ahead of time so that when there is an issue going on, I can just grab my meal and eat and not have to think about it.

5. Stay hydrated

I notice that in the winter, I definitely require less water but the second it gets hotter out, I need a bunch more. We make sure to stock our van with a gallon water bottle during the hot months and bring our water bottles everywhere. Aim for at least 8-8 oz glasses of water a day. To spice it up, feel free to add lemon or lime or mint leaves to your water. Electrolyte drink mixes are fun for flavor on a hot day too.

Thanks for hanging out and reading my personal goals that I am going to work on this month!

All of the clothes in this post are from Baleaf. Troy and I have been huge fans of Baleaf clothes for around 5 years. You can buy them on Amazon, they're affordable- about $20 each and last. All of the clothes that we have have lasted for years and do not pill and hold up great to exercise. I highly recommend them!
