New-to-Me Foods Part 2

I was sent a few more fun products to try that I want to share with you: Dei Fratelli tomato products, Wave Bars and Power Ice.

Wave Bar
Wave Bars come in two different flavors: mixed berry and baked apple. I preferred the baked apple flavor. The berry had a bit of an artificial flavor in my opinion. Each bar has 170 calories, 3 grams protein and fiber and 9 grams of sugar. They are made of a mixed fruit and veggie blend (apples, carrots, pumpkin, kale, broccoli, beets), flax, dates, oats and sunflower seeds. They taste awesome and make a great mid-morning snack for me while I am at work. My husband has been enjoying the mixed berry flavor.

These would be great for kids because you honestly cannot taste any vegetables in this whatsoever. Each bar has ½ serving of fruit and ½ serving of vegetables.

Dei Fratelli
I love Dei Fratelli products and purchase them often. I think that canned, diced tomatoes are one of those foods that you have to always have on hand because they get used in everything. I have been enjoying making my own pasta sauces with homegrown frozen tomatoes from last summer and a can of Dei Fratelli diced tomatoes.

Also, I have to mention the awesome tomato basil sauce that I tried from them. It is so fresh tasting that it gives any dish an awesome, fresh tomato flavor. My husband who is not a huge basil fan even liked this since it is not too overpowering.
PowerIce

As someone who loves to work out, I know the importance of replacing my nutrition after a good workout; especially in the summer when we sweat a lot more. I was sent a couple boxes of Power Ice to try out and review. Power Ice is like a frozen sports electrolyte drink. They come in Lime Kicker and Orange Blast flavors. I think that these will be great for the summer. I plan to stick them in the freezer and grab one on a really hot day after a hard workout. I tried the lime flavor and really liked it. It is a nice alternative to a sports drink. Each bar only has 30 calories.
