Picnic and Play- Moms Group Gathering

Adalyn, Oliver and I are so lucky because we have the greatest group of mom friends and their kiddos. I am going to be honest and say that I didn't have a solid group of mom friends until Adalyn started preschool. I worked 4 days a week until Oliver was born when I decided to blog full-time and leave my day job. When Adalyn was born and other moms were meeting each other and becoming friends, I was at work and never developed a great group of friends (aside from a few but they live about 40 minutes from me).

It all started when I invited the other preschool moms out to coffee one day and we all got to know each other better. Then, my friend Krystyna asked the other moms if they wanted to do a weekly picnic meetup after preschool. We choose different parks or pools and meet there and just let the kids play while us moms talk. It worked so well and we have been doing this often for about 4 months now. It is the best thing ever to have mom friends who are going through the same thing as you with parenting and having a support system. It was something that I always wanted.

We all have a 4-year olds and many of us having younger and/or older children as well. When I saw the opportunity to have a Beech-Nut® Naturals™ sampling party with my mom friends, I knew that this would be a great gathering opportunity for us.

Beech-Nut Naturals is a line of baby food purees. Beech-Nut Naturals focuses on simple, natural ingredients with nothing artificial and is inspired by homemade. To make this line of food, Beech-Nut Naturals went into homes and sat in kitchens to learn how people feed their babies. Couldn't get better than that! We liked these purees when Oliver first learned how to eat.

I knew that the younger kiddos would love to sample these but the older ones would not want it on its own which is why I decided to use it in different recipes to share with all of the 4 year olds.

I made some fun yogurt bowls with Greek yogurt, Beech-Nut Naturals Just Apples, cinnamon, finely chopped honeycrisp apples (if giving to younger babies, peel and steam until soft) and chia seeds. Some other ideas for how to include these fruit purees in food for older kids is to include them in popsicles or bake them into different foods such as muffins or pancakes.

For this party, I invited my mom friends to our local park and setup this party where kids could try the different Beech-Nut Naturals products in different forms. I told them about the different benefits of the products and how they are made with real fruits and veggies- no salt, sugar or additives used.

It was a fun gathering with our little group and it was fun to see the kids sampling different products and having fun!

We played bingo and I sent them on their way with some fun gift bags with Beech-Nut products. Always great to get together with friends!
