Whole-Wheat Blueberry Bagels
You guys, I have a problem. An addiction. A bagel addiction. On the day that I made these super delicious Whole-Wheat Blueberry Bagels, I ate 5 of them with cream cheese. Yes, 5! They are so good and bagels are one of my favorite things in the world. They are made with plain Greek yogurt and white whole-wheat flour so they are quite a bit healthier than your typical bagels and are too good!

Healthy blueberry bagels
I got awesome feedback from readers who have made my Easy Whole-Wheat Everything Bagels so I wanted to try making a sweet version of bagel. As you can tell by me eating 5 bagels in one day, I liked them. My daughter especially loved them too and we made these together. I always make a double batch because my family loves to eat bagels and I freeze some for another day.

How to Make Whole-Wheat Blueberry Bagels

These are made with plain Greek yogurt but if you wanted a sweeter version, you could use blueberry Greek yogurt. I chose to use white whole-wheat flour for added fiber and nutrients. I used dried blueberries for this recipe and the bagels were loaded with blueberries in every bite! They were awesome. I see so many other flavors of bagels in our future!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Place baking mat or parchment paper on a baking sheet. Spray with nonstick spray.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, dried blueberries, cinnamon and salt. Add the yogurt and maple syrup and mix until combined. Mixture will be crumbly.
  3. Dust work surface with flour and place dough on top of floured surface. Knead the dough about 15 times until dough is combined and not sticking to your hand. If dough is sticky, add more flour until it is no longer sticky.
  4. Divide into 8 balls. Roll each ball into ropes that are about 3/4 inch thick and join the ends to form your bagels.
  5. Brush bagels with beaten egg whites with a pastry brush. Bake for 22 minutes on the top rack of the oven leaving plenty of space between bagels as they expand.
  6. Top with cream cheese for extra deliciousness!
Enjoy!
