2019 Year in Review

2019 has been a crazy year for my family. Lots of medical worries with Lily but everything has turned out okay so far, thank god! The year started with me being pregnant and now Lily is 5 months old. Time flies! Here is a summary of 2019 for our family.

January

-We went to Castaway Bay Indoor Water Park and found out that Adalyn is a little daredevil!!

-We got together with lots of family all year round which is our favorite.

February

-I had a super exciting career moment where I developed recipes for the restaurant chain Genghis Grill including creating content for different diets.

-We found out that we are having another girl! We also found out that I had velamentous cord insertion which is the way that the umbilical cord goes into the placenta. My pregnancy suddenly became high risk and I was monitored very closely through my entire pregnancy.

-We took the kids on their first plane ride and went to Florida and visited Disney for the first time.

-We went to Kalahari Water Park which instantly became a favorite. So much fun and such great rides for kids and adults.

March

-The kids took swim lessons for the first 6 months of the year. We plan on starting again soon.

-We started having Adalyn read daily and now in December, she has become quite an excellent reader. We are so proud. She also lost 4 teeth through this year.

April

-For Spring break, we went to Niagara Falls. It was certainly a memorable trip because both kids had an awful stomach bug and vomited the whole time. Then right when we got home, Troy and I started vomiting as well. Somehow, we still remember the trip favorably.

May

-Due to my high-risk pregnancy, I started twice a week non-stress tests and weekly ultrasounds to monitor the baby. Thank god, she was born very healthy. The first 6 months of this year was full of lots of naps for a very tired pregnant mom.

June

-My brother bought a pontoon and we enjoyed taking trips out on it this summer.

-We went to tons and tons of summer concerts, took the kids to pools and splash pads, the zoo and many more adventures.

July

-July 10th- Lily Virginia Hernandez was born and completed our family!!

-July 11th- Troy and I celebrated 10 years of marriage- in the hospital with our new baby!

August

-My sister got engaged and is getting married next October.

-Lily went to 12 outdoor summer concerts by the time she was 6 weeks old!! Here is her first concert at 7 days old. She really enjoyed it obviously.

September

-Adalyn turned 5 and started kindergarten.

-We took lots of trips to my parent's farm through the year.

October

-We found out that Lily has plagiocephaly and torticollis and started weekly physical therapy.

-My cousin Krissy got married and Adalyn and Oliver got to stand up! It was their first wedding ever.

-We celebrated Lily's first holiday, Halloween! Adalyn and Oliver had so much fun Trick or Treating.

-My parent's house at the farm was done being built. Now, we have tons of space to fit the entire family! Troy and I have our own bedroom and our kids share another bedroom of their own. It is amazing!

November

-Lily was fitted for her DOC Band for plagiocephaly and continued therapy for torticollis.

-I turned 30!

-We celebrated Lily's first Thanksgiving!

December

-We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the holiday season with breakfast with Santa, looking at Christmas lights, singing Christmas carols, a Christmas concert and much more. A true blessing to celebrate the holidays through children's eyes.

-Lily got baptized!

It was a great year with some worries but everything is turning out okay after all. I can't wait to see what 2020 brings!
