Imaginative Play with Kindi Kids

Dolls are everything to Lily! She brings her "babies" everywhere we go: to the playground, to concerts, into stores, etc. When Lily saw these Kindi Kids dolls, she wanted them so badly. What kid wouldn't? Bright colors, fun features, pretty dolls. I want to share about these different dolls and toys from Kindi Kids and show how Lily loves to use her imagination to play with them. I wish you could have heard her reaction when she opened up this box of fun! She was SO excited!

Lily is 3!

Summer has been filled with so much fun that I am not getting around to Lily's 3rd birthday post till now- her birthday was July 10th. I wanted to write this post to remember all of the cute moments with Lily. Fun things going on with Lily at age 3: -She refers to herself as Lily Ginia Witch or Lily Ginia Doctor or Lily Poop (of course!).  -She loves telling everyone that her birthday is July 10th pronounced (Joo-lie) and has known her birthday since at least 2 1/2.  -Lily loves oatmeal and eggs most. She loves telling her dad "make eggs" as he is kissing her goodnight every night. She also loves yelling at Troy daily saying "Dad, take your bitavins (vitamins". -She thinks she has no eyebrows because they're blonde. She loves for us to draw on eyebrows for her with markers or eyeliner lol.  -Lily loves her dad and loves cuddling him and saying that they match hair and how they look. Troy has black hair and Lily is blonde for reference. -She is obsessed with ...

Tips for Baking with Kids

Tips for Baking with Kids

This post has been sponsored by Betty Crocker. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Tips for Baking with Kids including how to make baking fun and less stressful so you can make more memories with your kids! My kids are ages 6, 4, and 2 and I love to get in the kitchen with them and cook and bake. You may remember that when I wrote my cookbook 30 Minute Family Cookbook, my 6 year old Adalyn helped with a bunch of the recipes! I think it is important to teach kids basic cooking and baking skills at a young age so that they are comfortable cooking when they are adults. Plus, it is a lot of fun! I'm going to show you how my kids and I love making the Betty Crocker™ Birthday Cake Cookie Cups together.

Lily is 2!

I kind of can't believe that I'm writing this but my baby is 2 (on 7/10)! Lily is so full of life and such a joy to be around. Life has been pretty hard lately- we lost our amazing dachshund Ava and our basement flooded with 2 feet of water. Lily (and the other two kids of course!) keep us laughing, even when we don't want to.

Things I've Learned From Breastfeeding 3 Kids

Things I've Learned From Breastfeeding 3 Kids

Things that I have learned after 4 total years of breastfeeding 3 kids, including how to get more sleep for mom and baby, how to lower stress, and how to increase milk supply! I am about 4 years into my breastfeeding journey between my three kids- 18 months for my first, 17 months for my second and 10 months so far for my third. Before I had my first child, I did not know what to expect except but I was determined to give breastfeeding a shot. I researched everything I could about breastfeeding and knew about the nutritional benefits and wanted to give it a try.  It went well, and by the time I had my third baby, I had way less doubts about nursing a baby and knew that I could do it again. Today, I wanted to share some things that I've learned along the way about breastfeeding that I thought may help another mom.

Lily's 9 Month Update

Lily Virginia is 9 months old and I have so many great updates to share! What is the biggest thing this month for us (and the entire world): social distancing and quarantine. This will be a month to remember forever. We pretty much haven't left the house in a month aside from walks and have enjoyed lots of family time. After sharing that Lily has had quite a bit of medical concerns: plagiocephaly, torticollis, blocked tear duct, trouble gaining weight, poor appetite for solids, etc. etc., everything is now going literally PERFECT! All health concerns are resolved and Lily is doing amazing. I truly believe that God doesn't give you more than you can handle and during this pandemic, I honestly do not think that we could mentally handle any additional scares. Thank you God!

Homeschool Schedule for Work from Home Parents

Homeschool Schedule for Work from Home Parents

Sample homeschool schedule for work from home parents for a kindergartner, preschooler and baby. Lots of time for free play, outdoor time, some screen time and art time along with reading, writing and math. Playing dress-up can definitely be part of homeschool! I have struggled with putting together a schedule that works for my family to use during this time of homeschooling. Here is my list of activities to do with your kids from home that I shared last week. We have already adjusted our schedule quite a bit for what works from our family and I'm sure, we will continue to adjust as needed. Troy is a teacher that is teaching online from home. I blog full-time and am trying to fit it in with 3 young kids at home (ages 5 1/2, almost 3 and 8 months old). We are doing this schedule Monday-Friday. On the weekend, we are definitely going to need a much deserved break!! This schedule is what is working for us at this time. Feel free to copy and adjust as needed.
