Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie Bowl

I love a nutritious smoothie to start the day! I often drink my smoothies in a glass but when I want them to be like ice cream, I make them extra thick like this Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie Bowl. This smoothie bowl is very easy to make and is ready in just a few minutes. It is filling and tastes more like dessert than a healthy breakfast.

Healthy Mint Smoothie Bowl

My family loves starting our day with a nutritious breakfast. With breakfast, we take our supplements for the day. I currently am taking a multivitamin, omega-3 fatty acids (DHA) and a probiotic. The probiotic capsules from Smidge® are easy to take and are clean, potent and made to support gut health.

Smidge Probiotics

They are free of  unnecessary additives and common allergens. They're made in small batches and contain 13 different strains of premium probiotics. The folks at Smidge® also carefully calibrated the percentage of each strain to maximize the benefits while avoiding side effects associated with other commercial brands. This means regularity and smooth digestion, among other health benefits. If you are new to taking these, you can start with 1 capsule a day. Eventually, take two capsules per day.

Smidge® Probiotic capsules are made to maintain healthy gut ecology and can also help with digestion. There is so much information coming out about probiotics. I love to eat yogurt for probiotics but definitely do not eat it consistently enough so I choose to take a probiotic daily.

This formula can support a strong and well-regulated immune system, having a healthy urinary tract and support healthy digestion. Probiotics can be taken right with your meal or right after. Smidge® Probiotic capsules are ideal if you've used probiotics in the past and are at a more advanced stage of digestive healing — and want to keep maintaining a healthy gut. In addition to the health benefits probiotics bring, this formula can support immunity, having a healthy urinary tract and healthy digestion, which is particularly relevant to women and moms. You may have experienced some benefits of probiotic supplements but want more, or wanting more than your current probiotic is delivering.

When I take probiotics, I definitely notice a difference in my digestion which is why I take them. I really like adding good bacteria to my body. My kids love taking probiotics as well to help with digestion. They take a kid-specific formula. My kids have never had any issues with digestion and I credit it to a fiber packed diet and eating probiotic rich foods along with taking probiotic supplements.

Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie Bowl Ingredients

This smoothie bowl is loaded with frozen bananas, frozen spinach, fresh mint leaves, chocolate protein powder and milk. I used frozen spinach this time because that is what I had on hand but fresh baby spinach works really well too. You could skip the protein powder if you wanted or use vanilla protein powder as an alternative.

Healthy Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie Bowl

For toppings, if I am having it for breakfast, I would probably just have a little chocolate or just the chocolate granola but if I'm having it for dessert, I would definitely be generous with the chocolate!

Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie Bowl is loaded with bananas, spinach, fresh mint leaves, protein and milk for a nutritious meal! Top with granola, chocolate and whatever toppings you like.

Prep time: 5 MINS Cook time: 0 MINS Total time: 5 mins

  • 1 large banana, frozen in pieces or slices
  • 1 1/2 cups baby spinach
  • 3-5 mint leaves
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • Toppings: chocolate granola, chocolate chips

  1. In a blender, blend together the banana, spinach, mint, milk and protein powder until very smooth. Since you are using less liquid to make a thick smoothie bowl, you may need to use a spatula to make sure no ingredients are stuck to the sides.
